After several months of consideration regarding global warming I have decided that one of our single most man made structures is most likely creating the largest affect upon warming our planet, and that is our black asphalt, and concrete roadways.

as per square inch they absorb more sunlight, and retain and release more heat than natural surroundings, and scientific studies could be conducted to show this simple fact.

The solution then is very simple, since color white reflects sunlight, we simply paint all of our roads white, yellow lines can still be used to divide the lanes, and our current white lines could be substituted with the color red.

Regarding parking lots the same rules would apply, and I believe this would dramatically reduce the increased temperatures of earths climate which have been produced by man.

A larger degree radiant difference in temperature over the roadways per square foot, is greatly magnifying the temperature heat distribution. what do you think?

  1. It is not a solution to totally treat global warming...but it is something that should be considered in the plan.  A lot of other things need to be done to avoid any more global warming...

  2. you have a brilliant thought...

  3. Yes, changing the colours to more reflective ones could have a limited but positive effect...

...if you think global warming needs to be prevented.

  4. well sounds good only one problem i see is that this plan is reflecting more heat in the atmosphere which would cause more co2 build up .   but hey least your trying to come up with something that would help and besides i may be totally wrong but i do know that the problem with global warming is heat cant escape the atmosphere and that causes co2 build up
