Question:

Do you ALWAYS need a postage stamp?

In the past, I've done a couple money orders at the post office and usually they give me a stamp without me having to ask. Earlier today I went to the post office and did a money order and paid for all that stuff, then I mailed my payment. Until now, like 9 hours later, I realized there was no stamp on the envelope.

Here's the thing, I live in Canada, Ontario sending the money order to Saskatchewan also in Canada. I'm no expert at mailing things.. so could you tell me if I need a stamp if it's being sent within Canada? Perhaps they didn't remind me because I didn't need one, but I doubt that. Every money order I've done in the past I had a stamp and also, it was outside of Canada.

Let me know if I should be expecting the mail to come back to me.. and if so, would I have to pay for, and remail it again.

I'm stupid.

HELP.. ;D

  1. I live in the US and you have to have a postage stamp if you want to send something inside the country and i believe they will just send it back to you

  2. in the U.S. if you have a return address they will mail it back if it doesnt they make the addressee pay for it if they want it

  3. well assuming that when i lived in Newfoundland and i sent somthing to alberta i needed a stamp im assuming that ur mail we also require a postage stamp. So yes expect it back anyday.

  4. Yes, you need a stamp.  But where did the envelope come from?  There are prepaid envelopes that come with a stamp printed on it.  Check out my link for an image in the top 2 items.  Or do you specifically recall the upper right hand corner being blank?

So yes, you can expect it back.  It will come back with a sticker on it with the insufficient funds marked on it.  You just put on a stamp, peel off that sticker and re-mail.
