Question:

Do you Believe in Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, and UFO Crashes in Roswell, NM?

These all require faith to believe. Many smart and prominent people believe at least one of the above, and science can explain some of the sightings or lore that surrounds each of these mysteries.

So if you believe in global warming, do you also believe in Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, or that OFU's have crashed in Roswell, NM?

Or is there something else you believe in, like ghosts?

  1. I don't believe in any of those, but I guess if you think those are equivalent to the global warming science, it explains why you're so poorly informed.

  2. I believe in both global warming and ghosts. Though, I prefer to call them spirits rather than ghosts.

On second thought...maybe Big Foot is real.

  3. Oh come on Dr. J.  This is ridiculous and irrelevant.  You are comparing "sightings or lore" to countless peer-reviewed studies in scientific journals?

  4. Personally, I think there is more evidence to support these theories than there is to support man made global warming.

  5. Sure, why not, I didn't believe in an Anti Christ till Bush showed up!

  6. NO, I am not gulliable

  7. ..........Thats like saying if you dont "believe" in AGW you also think the moon landing was fake.

How can it be one way or the other? In fact this is so ridiculous I am annoyed that I even bothered to read the question.

    I believe in facts.

  8. That's not logical...why would someone who believes that global warming is occurring based on the scientific data which has been released also believe in things like Bigfoot, etc. that have have some scientific evidence disproving them?  The other way around makes a lot more sense-that people who refuse to accept the preponderence of evidence on warming would also be more likely to reject the scientific explanations for UFOs and so on.

  9. I believe there can be aliens from other planets.

  10. No

Yes(?)     (only because my Scottish grandmother showed me a picture of it years ago, lol  Grandmothers never lie?!)

    No

I think some of them still believe the world is flat, and is at the center of the universe.

  11. I definately believe in global warming because of the recent changes Earth is going through. ghosts maybe. but UFO's not really. I think theres something out there but it takes millions of years for our radio waves to get out in the universe. If there are "aliens" they are probably watching I love lucy or hearing the first radio stations. Its not likely for them to reach us that fast. I got this from my Astronomy and physics teacher.  I think the "Roswell crash" is a hoax for tourism and publicity.  Big foot in my opinion may be just an  undiscovered ape like creature that is shy.

  12. GO DR. JELLO. WOOT. FIGHT THE OPPRESSION. On a lighter note the loch ness monster is real the rest aren't.

  13. I don't believe Bigfoot or Loch Ness, but UFOs? Possibly. There's few ways to disprove aliens. And I do believe in ghosts...kinda. Yeah.

  14. I believe - theres no place like home, theres no place like home.  Santa Claus, The Easter Bunny and The Tooth Fairy are all real.  LOL!  I am not sure about Ghosts so to speak but I do believe in spirits.

  15. LMAO! I believe any or all of these may be possible, although unlikely.

  16. "So if you believe in global warming, do you also believe in Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, or that OFU's have crashed in Roswell, NM?"

An equally relevant question would be

"So if you don't believe in global warming, do you believe in Bigfoot, the Loch Ness Monster, or that OFU's have crashed in Roswell, NM?"

While I'll admit Roswell is a little sketchy, I won't go so far as to proclaim it's a massive governmental conspiracy. I won't call out those that do, however, be they AGW-proponents or not. There's a fine line between science and lore, and I think most of us realize it.

And no, AGW is not based on blind faith.

On a tangential note, the Drake equation, which is designed to predict the number of intelligent species living in the universe, suggests there ARE other life forms out there. The tricky part is coming up for the correct values for the equation. Obviously they're all rough estimates, but even the most conservative of such yield >1 estimates.
