  1. If they're not native English speakers, then I forgive any mistakes.

    Text speak makes my eyes hurt. When someone says, "you was" or "we was", which is all to common these days, it makes me want to bite myself. This kind of language shouldn't be accepted, but probably will be.

    Language is constantly evolving to incorporate new ideas and it'd be stupid, not to mention impossible, to try to halt that change. Luckily, our newspapers maintain a very high standard of language.

  3. lol, i dont think many english people really care,but thats one of my habits, correcting people's spelling mistakes!

  4. All hill billies that use colloquialisms should be shot.

  5. Personally, I couldn't care less to be honest. Half of our words were made up by Shakespeare. People making up new words for things is natural progression.

    That being said I do get annoyed when people use bad grammar and spelling, but only if they are trying to be smug.

    Oh, by the way..."someone" yes, it's one word.

    And English has a capital e

  6. It seems to only be us older generation that gets annoyed with the way the youngsters use the English language now.

    I'm sure they only do it because they can't spell,or to look "cool".

  7. Ive traveled everywhere on business throughout the uk and ive found that each area has its own sort of language, slang whatever you want to call it including the English

  8. Yes, I do.

    I am sixteen years old and in my opinion the only person I know my age, or older who still uses correct grammar and punctuation.

    It is extremely frustrating!

    The only thing I can do is lead by example.

    My pet annoyance is when people use double adjectives for example "that's more funnier" rather then "that's funnier" or that's more funny". I just can't stand it. At least I know I am not alone.
