Do you HATE that Dutrow guy?

Personally I hate Dutrow. I think he's an idiot. He has verbal diarrea... he never thinks before he talks. An article I read said he's been caught at least once each year for the past 8 years for unauthorized levels of bute or lasix in his horses. The guy doesn't prepare his horses for races... his training schedule isn't what keeps them sound... it's the drugs.

As for the article that I linked to, he's mad at Edgar for boxing in Big Brown. There's no doubt that Edgar did box Big Brown in... as I watched the Preakness replay a couple days ago, I thought that myself... I thought it was a brilliant move... that's the whole point of horse racing... you do what you have to do to try to handicap the best horse in the race... it's not like high school track where everyone has a path that they're required to stay in.

I like Big Brown a lot but  I really wish Dutrow would just shut-up.  It's hard to believe that he's never told his own jockeys to ride the way he's whining about in the article.  

It's one thing to be confident in your horse, but Dutrow is dismissive and sometimes insulting about the other horses.  I'd love to see Big Brown win the Triple Crown, but it would be amusing to see a horse that Dutrow dissed blow past BB in the Belmont.

I'm probably going to get a million thumbs down for saying that so again - I would love to see Big Brown win the Triple Crown.

Get over yourself Mike Wrecka and speak for yourself. I was born and raised in NY.  Most of my family still lives there. We think Dutrow is a freakin' pig.  What you call New York swagger we call yellow-toothed overweight hick, bragging about a horse on steroids.  

Fact is what Prado did is called horse racing.  Trying to box in horses happens all the time. Deal with it.

Lets put it this way, if you asked me to make a list of my top 100 favorite trainers, Dutrow wouldn't make the cut.

I am sick of Dutrow getting all this attention.  Big Brown is a great horse, but I think I'd pull my hair out if Dutrow wins the Triple Crown.

I think that Mike Wrecka might be right about the New York thing. I'm from the city and I've also got no problem with Dutrow. I love this guy. A lot of people have a problem with arrogant people, but I tend to like them, because I love their supreme confidence.

Terrell Owens, Kobe Bryant, Bill Belichick, Ozzie Guillen, Muhammad Ali, Floyd Mayweather, and others that I can't recall at the moment, I love them all, and they're all great for their respective sports.

I can't stand Dutrow.  He needs to get a PR guy and fast.  I read about his Prado comments on Bloodhorse yesterday.  It came across like he was questioning Prado's ethics.  I wondered if Dutrow's concern for racing ethics came along before or after the last time he got nailed for doping.

It's a shame that he's poised to be the first Triple Crown winning trainer in 3 decades.  But the good news is that I don't remember the names or faces of the last 3 Triple trainers, I only remember the horses and their jockeys.

i for one think Dutrow is great.  and just what racing needs.  so what he's cocky and arrogant. it brings color to the sport.  who wants a cranky old barclay tagg type of guy in the newspaper everyday.  boring.  the way dutrow is talking trash about casino drive and curlin is incredible.  hes confident in his horse as he should be.  i read today he said we want to bring big brown to the classic, it will be good for racing bad for curlin.  that is freakin exciting.  fact is what prado did was in bad form.  he took his horse out of the race, he finished last, just to try to prevent big brown from winning. thats not racing at all. you race to win, not to prevent another horse from winning.  

and just so the rest of the country knows, here in new york, we have no problem with dutrows attitude. hes based in new york and has new york swagger.  deal with it.  big brown is a new york owned horse, trained by a new york based trainer, going for the triple crown in new york.  gotta love it.

It sucks because, as much as I LOVE Big Brown, I really ain't to fond of Dutrow.

And your right, he doesn't think before he talks.

But, he seems like he has changed a bit - seeming his life was at the very worst just about 10 years ago - I mean, yeah its great if your confident in your horse but, he really didn't need to show it as much as he did.

Winning the Triple Crown.

If Big Brown wins the Crown - I will be... ecstatic!

I just - I want Big Brown to win it (because he's Big Brown) and for his jockey. But Dutrow... I just don't know if he should be the next trainer to win it.

Like Micheal Matz! He would be a perfect trainer to win the Crown. Ya know - and maybe if Big Brown doesn't win the Crown this year - he'll save it for Nicanor next year with Micheal Matz and the Jacksons...

But who knows.

Irrespective of the individual horses, but with regard to these two trainers themselves: one is a highly ethical, dignified and poised professional, with genuine devotion to his horse(s) success and well-being.  The other is a brash, opportunistic enterpreneur, unpolished, somewhat unprofessional, and giddily immersed in his own current public stature.  Might I  dare to suggest this thought (because I can't help but think it): wouldn't it have been so much more wonderful, fitting and deserving if somehow their fates so far this year had been each other's..........

Yeah Dutrow says dumb things and he is a sexest to top it all off. You can tell he didn't graduate from an etiquette shcool in England or maybe not from any school for that matter.

The sport could use the boost from a Belmont win with all the other bad publicity that's been around.

Nor will I subscribe to the newsletters that are claiming that all of Dutrow's success is due to steroids and medication.

Edgar Prado does a lot of very good moves a lot of the time. It's why he's, you know, considered good. And though Riley Tucker wound up last, I think it's probably because Riley Tucker isn't a great horse. He has to his name one of the best rides I've ever seen, on Saint Liam in the Woodward versus Ghostzapper.

Dutrow is just being Dutrow. I wouldn't let him get to you, especially if it means not liking the horse. Pretend he doesn't exist and you shouldn't have any more problems.

I can't ignore this, though: (on Curlin) “We are going to show up if our horse is good and ready. I don’t know what they (Curlin’s connections) are going to do. I would like to see them run together, it would be good for racing and good for us; it won’t be so good for them.”

If he thinks his horse is better than Curlin he has some serious issues.

I like Big Brown but do NOT think that his talent is in way or form related to his trainer. Dutrow does NOT deserve to win the triple crown, and I would be pleased if Casino Drive beat Big Brown to the finish line.

Dutrow hit a new low in his last interview for the Bloodhorse. after saying that he gives all his horses Winstrol every month he said he doesn't know its effects on a horse, and doesn't think I trainer should know this and furthermore shouldn't even be asked these questions. Yeah sure, he doesn't know Winstrol is a potent dangerous anabolic steroid and performance enhancer.

This specimen thinks were all as stupid or evil as he is.
