Is it REQUIRED that if you are going to college, you MUST fill out a FAFSA application? Even if your parents were rich enough to walk in the financial aid office and pay your FULL tuition in cash, do you have to fill one out?

[( No, I am not lucky enough to have this happen, but I am curious as to whether or not filling out the FAFSA is something you MUST do before you can be accepted to a college. )]

  1. it is not a must before applying or getting accepted to college. if you have the money to pay the tuitition you will not need to complete a FAFSA. FAFSA is for financial assistance.

    hope this helps!

  2. You don't HAVE to, BUT alot of colleges where I live REQUIRE you to do it even if you won't get anything.  Check with your college your applying for.

  3. no not required but most ppl do because most ppl are broke as a joke

  4. Absolutely not required.

  5. No, it is not required.  But most people are entitled to some financial aid.

  6. no, fasfa is only for financial aid

  7. NOPE . only if u want ur school paid for

  8. That would probably depend on the school.... but generally no, if you have the cash in hand to pay your tuition, fees, books, dorms etc. and are not applying for ANY kind of scholarships, state or institutional aid and such then you shouldn't have to.

  9. no, im pretty sure only if you want free grants (which is worth the effort right there) or taking out a loan.  I know it sucks to fill out FAFSA with the pin and everything.  Its a lot of work, but it is worth it.  Come next year, most your info will already be filled out and it wont be too hard.  Good luck and study hard (and have a good time in college too!!)

  10. No not required.

  11. No, the FAFSA is nothing more than an application for federal student aid.  It is used to determine how much money you are eligible to receive or borrow and by law you must file if you want federal aid (often in the form of subsidized interest).

If you don't require financial assistance then you don't have to file unless for some strange reason the college to which you are applying requires this application from every enrolled student - though to the best of my knowledge no institution has this requirement.
