Question:

Do you HAVE to refridgerate organic peanut butter?

I'm trying to eat healthier and have recently bought organic peanut butter which just contains peanuts and salt. The oil obviously separates when not refridgerated, but is there any other reason why it would have to be refridgerated. I just do not like the taste of it cold, so I was wondering if I could NOT refridgerate if I don't mind stirring it eat time.

  1. My wife refrigerates hers only because she doesn't go through it very fast.  I don't think she'd bother if she ate more of it.  You're right - cold peanut butter doesn't cut it.

  2. I never refrigerate mine, and I'm O.K. Boo hydrogenated oils!

  3. it lasts longer than a week on the shelf, maybe even two months. I cant ever remembering anyone refridgerating peanut butter, unless by accident when putting the jelly in the fridge. Do you ever see it in the refridgerated section in the supermarket?

  4. it's fine if you don't refridgerate it as long as you use it pretty fast...like within a week or it will go rotten

  5. I don't think that you do, I left my organic peanut butter out and it stayed fine

  6. well i think you don't have to because i had a qq. like yours so you don't have to.
