I've been wondering if you can use alll sodas are just coke for mentos and soda.

Well personally I think that to do the mentos and soda trick don&#039;t use anything diet because it doesn&#039;t make the blast as powerful or if you use diet mentos it won&#039;t work at all. So, the answer to your question is no, to make an extremely powerful blast i would suggest you use just plain coke and any flavor mentos just as long as it isn&#039;t diet.

all sodas work, but diet coke has by far the most carbonation. the reaction just wont be the same with anything else.

I watched a Mythbusters on this the other day.  Originally, Diet Coke was used in the experiment because it doesn&#039;t have sugar in it, and it wouldn&#039;t get everything sticky.  But, they said they had tried a variety of different sodas since then, and Diet Coke produces the best results.  It had something to do with the artificial sweeteners.
