  1. Ok i love parts of France but Paris........ SUCKS!

It is WAYYY too overpriced, flights/eurostar/hotels are all ridiculously priced, and once you are actually there things dont get a lot better everything costs far too much and overall is just a big rip off in my opinion.

In terms of things to do........ well there is..... look at museums and art...... walk along a river.......... look at a silly Arc and a big chunk of un-romantic metal........ sit in over priced cafes....... go to some more museums.......???

Im not being funny but i can go to Barcelona/Salou for 7 nights for LESS money than i can go to Paris for 3 nights. Barcelona has everything that Paris has only with a lot more style and more things to do. Its located on the coast which is perfect ... .im not gonna go into what Barcelona has but the bottom line is i went to Paris once....... i hated it.......... i went back again trying to be a little more open minded........ it sucked even more than the first time!! So my answer would be TOTALLY OVER-RATED and CROWDED

    AND

    I HATE IT COMPLETELY.

  2. Of course it is both romantic and amazing, at least to people of education, culture and taste.

Louts, morons, and illiterates will think differently.

Paris is certainly not a cheap city but it is considerably cheaper than, for example,  London or New York.

If Paris is crowded it is because it receives so many visitors.

  3. I think Paris is romantic ...and there are many wonderful places I still dream about (Cartier Latin, Montmartre, Jardin de Luxembourg, ...)

I loved the lights show at Tour Eiffel and Batobus - on the river Seine.

Of course is crowded - Paris is a renowned touristical place and one of the most interesting places in Europe.

    Romantic: ***

    Amazing:  ****

    Crowded:  ******

as you can see, I liked it, even if it was crowded! And I don't think is over-rated, you must take your time and see as much as you can!

Because I can't afford to stay in **** hotels, I selected a hostel, where I stayed with another 2 friends for 60 EURO/ night - all room.

Maybe my hotel was not 5 star, but my memories certainly are! :)

  4. Paris is a great global city !!! i love it

  5. Overrated for many reasons, it being crowded just one of them. I don't hate it completely.

  6. I don't really think of Paris as romatic, but it is definitely amazing.  I love it enough to go back there a couple of weeks from now for a 5th trip.  The art, the architecture, the fashion, the parks...not to mention the food.  I can't wait...

  7. Over rated and the people there are just so rude!

  8. Paris is unique (just like everywhere else)

Appreciate it for what it is.  I sure am glad I went for a week (my wallet is still healing).  It is one of the world's greatest cities, and you haven't been "everywhere" until you've been there!  "The best"?  for what?  Has great museums, atmosphere, and je ne sais quoi (<-PUN)--sure, other cities have other things to recommend them, but there is only one Paris!

As to romantic....would depend on whom you take with you

Yes, I definitely think it's worth going out of your way to see, at least once.  Just do it at a time in your life when you have some spare do-re-mi

  9. It depends upon what you want from a city.

Paris has beautiful historical architecture, and a very appealing culture. Certain places in Paris cater to tourists, and others don't. If you don't require four star accommodation, the chain of hotels called Ibis provides a decent stay for a reasonable cost (at least it did a few years ago when I was there). Europe in general is expensive, so you're not likely to get a deal in many places.

If you're not into the whole culture/historical/museum type of experience, then you might want to try cities other than Paris. You may get a better deal, and still get the "French experience".

I loved sitting on the grass near the base of the Eiffel Tower, having a picnic on a sunny day with my family. But that's just me. The subway system is also pretty easy to navigate, and relatively inexpensive (especially if you want to see several places in one day - the day pass / week passes are great). Double-decker tour buses are a little expensive, but the English language commentary that comes with it is really cool. I would definitely go there again.

  10. 1. Yes, it is amazing and romantic if you appreciate architecture and art and good clothing. You should try the eiffel tower at night to meet people.

    2. They are really not as rude as people make them out to be. If you respect their culture, learn some french phrases you should be set.

    I hope this helps!
