Do you Tip the person who does your Piercing?

I am getting my belly button pierced and i was wondering if you tipped them? and if you do how much?

I wouldn't tip them if they were the owner of the place. Actually, I don't think I would tip them, period. Don't know how much they make, but I'm sure it's a decent amount. The whole reason you tip a waitress is because they make pennies, and then I still only tip if the service was good, not because I HAVE to. Do you tip the person who sold you a TV at Best Buy? Or the guy behind the deli counter, or the guy who mowes your lawn every other week? i don't and they provide a service, just like the piercing person. I actually think there are way too many people who feel like they're entitled to a tip, just look at the tip jars that are on every store's counter these days. Isn't the boss/owner supposed to pay for his help? If we keep tipping every person who helps us, then pretty soon, the owners can hire help for next to nothing because we as customers pay most of their salary! And if that makes me cheap in other people's eyes, so be it. I happen to tip a good waitress 25%... :)

if you don't want to be a complete jerk than yes you do...usually 15-20% to be kind!

You don't have to. But I can tell you don't use them again if you don't.

I have had 16 body piercings. You don't want to tick off your piercer. BAD choice. So if you don't plan on getting another one, no problem. Or if you have a friend getting one too, make sure you go first. But it won't kill you to tip them.

Well if a delivery guy from a pizza joint down the block gets a tip without question, just for walking up to your door, giving you a blank stare and handing you a greasy box, I think a person who has stabbed a hole in your body with a needle, placed a piece of jewelry ever-so-accurately into said hole, and yet somehow prevented your body from being grossly infected, they deserve a tip too. And a fat one at that.
