  1. In the United States, health care can NOT be a right......there should be no argument about that. A right in the U.S. can not demand that something be taken from one person and given to another in order to fulfill that right. Free health care is a myth in every country that has free (sic) health care. Someone has to pay for it. In the U.S., the private sector creates all capital(money) which is taxed to provide funding for government operations and programs. Government schools(read public schools) are not free for this reason.

As our constitution says, our rights are given by our creator, not our government.

    Edit

If health care is a right, then I guess food, cars, phones, and just about everything else we WORK for must be rights as well. One of my cars has 165,000 mile on it, it may break down, so I DEMAND a replacement for it now.......where do I apply.

  2. American citizens have the right to have healthcare but the politicians are not allowing it due to big insurance companies that had influence on government.

  3. No! Americans reserve the right to spend twice as much for healthcare as Canadians, Mexicans or even Cubans.

The fact that we don't live longer than them is beside the point.

  4. We have the right to work for employers that offer us good health care benefits. We also have the right to ensure that our system has rewards for new drugs and cutting edge technics. I guess thats why patients from all those countries that offer it 'free' choose to come to the US for treatment.

  5. If we dont have the right, then we know that Bush is a sick murderer that doesnt care about his own people but only the amount of tombstones that we place.

  6. U.S. citizens have the RIGHT, but unfortunately not the opportunity_for whatever amount of UNREASONABLE reasons the ones opposing it may want to bring up!

  7. Canadians don't have free health care, we pay for it through our taxes.  It is far superior to private health care, the only reason, and I stress that, that Canada's is in trouble is by deliberate undermining by our beaurucrats and politicians to ruin it, and let in US style health care with HMO's and insurance and other greedy, seedy institutions.  And yes there is a pr campaign underway here to convince canucks that were better of with private health care.  And like well trained seals, were buying it.

  8. nobody has free health care, somebody is paying for it.

  9. You do not have the RIGHT to health care, a free car, a new house, a free graduate education, the next Play Station game, or to eat.  These are privileges that are earned, and when you have earned the right to be helped on a short term basis, such as workman's comp since you held a job and payed taxes.... you have earned it.

Otherwise, put you hand back in your pocket and get a job.  Be a part of the solution, not the parasite sucking the life out of the economy.

Get a job.  You know, the job that Americans won't do, because they have their hands out waiting for free stuff they think they have a right to.

Oh - Many Canadians are being transported to Seattle and East Coast US hospitals for routine but difficult surgeries and care because the Canadian system is collapsing and can't cover the need (not enough socialist money to go around), at an extreme case-by-case high cost to the Canadian govt.  Read about it - Google it - if you don't know that their wonderful system is not working.

In the UK, people are pulling their own teeth at home because they can not wait for an appointment to the dentist.

  10. No!
