  1. US citizens can get their visa before departing from the Egyptian Consulate or on their arrival at the airport .

you pay 15$ to get the visa.

if you limit your visit to Sharm, you may get into the country without a visa .

personally i prefer that the tourist gets the visa for he/she may develop plans to go somewhere unplanned in Egypt.

  2. For those who don't like to use their egyptian passport and want to show off and use their american passport so the answer is yes

  3. YES OFCORSE,, why not... americans are just like anyother citizens...

  4. When I came to Egypt in April I paid 15$ US in the Airport when I landed in Cairo and they give you a 30 day visa for tourism...I have never heard of 3 months for tourists in Egypt.

But yes you should have a valid passport that will be valid for at least 6 months beyond your travel.

To get a 5 year residency visa you just fill out some papers and pay like 300 le

  5. Yes, a visa is needed. You either get it from the Egyptian consulate nearest to you or from the airport when you arrive to Egypt, you will pay 15 Dollars and you will be given 30 days in Egypt. Make sure that your passport is valid for at least 6 months from the day of arrival.

If you are going to Sharm el Sheikh and you do not intend to leave to any other city in Egypt you may enter without any need for a visa.

  6. Yes they do,but a tourist visa can be obtained on arrival in Egypt rather than apply for one in the United States before leaving.

Some travel companies actually charge an excess fee for obtaining your visa for you implying it is "the way things are done", never pay for someone to obtain a visa for you as it really is such a simple ,no hassle process.

I used to get my entry visa while waiting for my luggage to come through on the carousel.

The process only takes a couple of minutes and so long as you have a passport with at least 6 full calender months validity, then you will have your passport stamped on payment of S20 US -check the fee on line, with your travel agent /airline, or the Egyptian Embassy just in case it may have increased.

This entitles you to stay for 3 mths, but an extension can be applied for.

  7. no don't worry

you will have it in the airport and will cost you 10$ get them by cash so it will be Moor easy

then they give you a stamp and you can stay for 30 dyes as a tourist
