  1. i wouldn't like to go to any foreign country alone.

  2. My sister and I travel there every summer by ourselves (both of us are under 20). It is not scary or dangerous at all. Just remember that Istanbul has its safe side and bad side. Like if I went to Taksim (an area of Istanbul) at 2-5 a.m. that would not be a very good idea it is full of drunk people). But if you go to lets say Baghdat Caddesi (don't know if thats the correct spelling) it would be safe.

One thing you must know is that you will be treated based on what you are wearing. I know because I have tested it. If I wear a short skirt to a park or just around the neighborhood I would get starred at and get a lot of cat calls from all kinds of men (teenagers, middle-aged, even 40 yr old kiros with that usually wear their shirts open till you can see their black chest hair with gold necklaces). But... if you decide to wear just normal jeans and a shirt you will probably get less attention. I usually wear jeans and a simple t-shirt but apparently that turns heads too, just not as much as if I was wearing a mini-skirt.

So.... I would say traveling to Turkey is pretty safe if you know where you are going. Don't mind the cat calls its not like they are going to kidnap you.

  3. If you think you can travel to New York alone, then yes you can go to Ä°stanbul, as well. Both cities are big, crowded and cosmopolitan.

  4. If you want you can go but its not particullary just Turkey you wouldnt want to go alone since you've never been there and you dont know anyone there so i think you should get like friend or family member to go with you.

However if you believe in yourself and tell me your bold and brave then go.Even though i would love to see more people going to Turkey since im turkish but if you dont know the language or have never been there and going alone i advise you not .

  5. to ıstanbul, ızmır ankara and some other cıtıes yes but the eastern parts no, ı dont!

  6. Yes it would be safe to travel to Turkey alone, as long as you have the common sense to make you survive in any big country/city. But if you prefer to put on your pink slippers and eat chocolate pudding while watching your favorite brainy quiz programme and petting your 10 year old cat, Jonathan, then stay home and wait for death.

Hope I made my point across.

  7. Why not, my friend went as an exchange student to Samsun in Turkey for a year. One bit of advice for muslim countries is to wear clothing that covers you well and wear sunglasses. They reckon you want to avoid eye contact with men.

  8. I am going alone too! Istanbul is a safe city but of course it is also a big city, so just act as if you were in London, Paris,  New York or Tokyo and nothing can go wrong! Don't miss the Archeological Museum, it is very safe, interesting and quiet in there!

Of course, as Eveline said, I am over 30 so I don't have to worry about anything anymore...I am so lucky....lol!!!

  9. I was in Kas,  though i enjoyed the town , i went to the police station to ask a simple question, and i was treated like i had no right to be there, and just told to move the car,  they did not even find out what was wrong,  or if i needed help, only to move the car,  and i think if i had been with a man things would have been different.   So be prepared for the fact that you may be treated like a second class citizen.   if you can handle that, without the mental support,  of others,  then good luck,  enjoy

  10. I don't know how old you are but I wouldn't recommend you to travel somewhere alone. If you are older than 30, it's ok tho.

  11. i will be there from 2-7 july if u want come with me just IM me
