  1. you are right.

  2. true but honestly you also will not often be surprised. most people will rise to your expectations. if not most people will just prove you right and that is really sad. being realistic is better. know that people do their best and so should you.

better words to live by are: do your personal best, no one can ask more of you and you can ask no more of them because you already have it all.

  3. If you expect nothing from anyone , you will never be disappointed, true, however; if you expect nothing from anyone you will never be proud, suprised, happy, excited when they meet your expectations, sometimes expectations encourage those around us to succeed above and beyond their normality, and show them that we believe in them, If you never give emotion, you will never recieve it, It is better to live with disappointment on occasion in order to feel elation, than never have had any feeling at all.

  4. I never expect nothing from anyone, You can't trust people.

  5. no, because no matter what you may be disappointed. You may tell yourself that you don't expect anything, but deep down you do. You just don't know that. Eventually the person will do something that will disappoint you. Well maybe not everyone, but someone, some people.

  6. sounds like an isolationist!   you must have gotten burned--time will let you trust again

  7. yes, thats actually an old chinese proverb i learned about in mythology class.

  8. I agree with Mrs A. Hold a pure concept of who each person is, what they can do,  and how you can help. If you are disappointed, you just don't have enough patience.

  9. I agree to some extent with what you say, but not to avoid disappointment.

Disappointment is something we feel within governed by our thoughts influenced by our experiences and the actions of others.

When something or someone does not meet our expectations we can either choose to be disappointed or appreciate that things do not always operate according to our personal view.

I prefer to expect nothing from anyone because the responsibility lies with me to achieve what is important to me. If someone does an act of kindness or exceeds my expectations it is a bonus and enriches me.

However, I am always accepting of the 'reverse side of the coin' knowing the fault may just lay with me.

It all depends how you choose to look at it.

Interaction with each other is what makes life an experience - don't miss out on it for the sake of possible disappointment - grab it and accept the rough with the smooth.

  10. I agree.  But it cannot be a disgruntled view...like "I knew you weren't going to do that anyway" and be down because the world is just as horrible as you thought...it has to be a true zero expectation...which means you can't expect them to not do something or to do something.  There is NO expectation.  In this way, there is only a horizontal line always.

  11. Absolutely.

  12. Expectations are funny things.

Yes, if you expect nothing than you will never be disappointed. But have you ever thought of disappointment as a good thing?

If you were let down, wouldn't you try to stand up? Even higher than you were once before? It's what makes us grow.

  13. thats is how i live my life and i've never been disappointed

  14. Expectation is the mother of disappointment....
