  1. Not so much the events but my reaction does.

  2. It's happening to me right now...

    Sigh...

  3. I agree with events causing mental problems, but the mind is what gets you back.

  4. Interesting question ...and you bring up the heart.

I recently had the experience of my heart stopping briefly. I lost consciousness without noticing a thing. BUT as I came back into this world (heart started beating again) I experienced what appeared to be a clear fling OUT of reality.

It kinda felt like being on a mobius strip where ever thing was being repeated over and over as I would guess my heart AND mind were struggling to get back to base one = LIVING.

Syncope as it is called due to heart failure. If it might help some who wonder ...if that is what DEATH FEELS like ...it's very sublime. One hardly notices it. It's only AFTER you come back in, that you have a sense of it.

I found it fascinating and still ponder it.

  5. NO.

  6. You should never rely on your mind to solve your problems.  Certainly, one can become lost in this world.  Fortunately, it is easy to find your way back to yourself.  It is not easy however, for some to see this way.  Most are blinded by material wealth, family issues, or other mortal affairs.  When it comes down to it, you just have to quiet your mind and listen to your heart.  What is it you really want?

  7. We all create our own context & reality.

Do you want to fight against the tide or swim with it?

  8. Sure, you can let yourself be flung, I have, but I believe that the struggle to regain your balance (and reality) is fought within your mind.  I have had to re-educate myself, with the help of some very special people.

  9. Only if you allow them to.  We must always be grounded in truth.

Yes, your heart is the only way to get 'grounded'!

  10. Yes, that is what I have come to realize thus far.  This is because the mind is fixated on form and content instead of the formless and context.  The dualistic nature of the mind presumes events are occurring in a sequential manner, therefore it arbitrary selects a starting point of an "event" and labels a "cause" that results in an "effect" or a beginning that has an end.  Reality is eternal without beginning or end and is not caused by anything.

Spiritually, the heart and the mind (mind, not to be confused with the intellect) are one in the same.  Advanced spiritual teachers teach that the way through the heart is the easiest and most beneficial in this "Kaliyuga" or cosmic cycle, and the mind is difficult to master.  Thus the pathway through the heart is recommended and emphasized.

  11. i'm not trying to be sarcastic but, what is reality?  is it "the truth"?  is it a matter of personal and/or individual perception? and if either of the above examples are an example, then who decides?

  12. Certain kinds of injury can.

    We call them 'fatal'.

  13. Okay.  So not losing heart will help you recapture your balance in life.  But what if you lose the balance of your mind???
