On Foxtel last night on that show that does the team lists for the weekend the panel was discussing the convictions at this years tribunal sittings, for trivial offences.

Parkin is obviously getting fed up with where the game is heading & said that the AFL was now "squeaky clean". He did not mean it as a compliment. Do you agree with him?

  1. Yes it is squeaky clean in the respect that he is referring to, but it is probably the most corrupt sport on the face of the earth when you look at how it is managed, how funding is allocated, the betting profits to the AFL, and how rules are used outside of the game itself to benefit some teams and to disadvantage others.

  2. Yes, I do agree.

I agree with him when referring to the game now being squeaky clean due to the tribunal cleaning up all the rough stuff. In fact they have gone completely overboard so much so that one is more likely to suffer an injury playing marbles, than Aussie rules football.

  3. the footy show made an interesting point of this last night. they compared the afl in 2003 to 2008, and showed some clips of the adelaide roughnut Mark Riccuito. he didn't get suspended for any of the actions shown, and ended up winning the brownlow that year. but when compared to some instances this year, where they are extremely simular, the players have nearly always been suspended.

  4. I agree with him in the context he said the phrase in. AFL, is still a tough sport, which requires a lot of physical endurance, but it is being ruined by the tribunal, and their inconsistent desicions.

  5. Yes I agree with him.   The game has gone soft.   Maybe it's because the AFL are trying to convert the NRL fans because they only like pu$$y games.   Who knows?

  6. I think he is deluding himself somewhat! There is no such thing as a 'squeaky clean' sport.

  7. I too agree.

By that I mean the AFL tribunal & match review committee has gone completely over the top in dealing with "violence" in the game. It is getting to be a bit of a joke & the game is suffering.

  8. **I never heard what David Parkin said but I think the AFL are trying to make the game 'squeaky clean' and as a result they are going to end up ruining the game.

It's getting to the point where a player has to be so extremely careful with everything he does and if he's not he's likely to be going to the tribunal**
