  1. My parents made me wear seatbelts since I was a young girl that it's become such a habit.   Now when I get into a vehicle, it's the first thing that goes on.  I wear it mainly for safety reasons.  I was involved in a major accident last year and had I and my passenger not been wearing our belts, we would've been thrown out of the windshield and possibly killed or at least seriously injured.  We both walked away without a scratch.

  2. I don't want to pay higher insurance because of idiots getting almost killed in accidents that aren't that bad.  If people come out of an accident relatively OK, their medical costs will be much lower and so will insurance...

  3. agreee they save lifes

  4. I disagree with most laws regarding seat belts, child seats, and helmet laws for motorcycles. We should all be accountable for our own actions and not be legislated to death by a government. Make the safety stuff available for those that want to use them but forget about laws mandating their use.

  5. agree;

    im just used to wearing it all the time.

    my parents made me wear it like all the time and now its like i have to put it on or it will feel weird.

  6. I agree.

    I feel safer when I drive knowing my chances are better.

  7. I agree and what other reason do you need besides they do save lives.

  8. Before they were law  we rolled a car my wife was 8 months pregnant  We landed up side down  my sion was 5  were all strapped in  and still here the police were amazed.    On the other hand      in another    asccident my late nephew was thrown out out  the car landed on him  con vinced  ????

  9. If you are wearing a seatbelt during a collision, chances are that you will be kept inside the vehicle and that any injuries would be less than someone not wearing a belt - relatively speaking...If you are not wearing a belt, there is nothing to keep you from being crushed by the steering wheel, thrown out of the vehicle from an open door or through the windshield...At speeds above 15-20 mph, there is not much left to salvage.

    My wife is a medical review RN for a major health insurance company and you would not believe some of the things she tells me about what happens to people how were not wearing a seatbelt...What a waste!...All for want of a lousy seatbelt.

  10. I'm a person from before it was a law, to buckle up it saves lives. I don't remember there being a  problem before it became a law, but then I was younger. I suppose the fact that there are more people and speed is a problem. I've heard of accidents that, yes they helped save a life. I've also heard of accidents where the seat belt was a hindrance. Over all, they are certainly important and I am for them.

  11. I think that people should be able to have the choice if they want to wear them. I know sometimes when i wear them i just feel really restricted and i hate it but when with certain peoples driving it brings a sense of comfort.
