  1. 1. Yes, because a person who is born (this is not a joke) retarded can not learn anything because it is not in him. It is scientifically proven.

    2. Yes, only the concept of freedom is tempting because it is a bite of the good life without the strings attached. The experience of freedom has strings attach because it comes with a life time warranty.

    3. Yes, because it is telling us to be impartial when making a decision. That way you don't pick one side because you like the person who said it. Even though most people don't do that, but hey that's why it's a quote.

4.Yes, because you can be the smartest person in the world, but if you don't read good books then you are no better then some one who can't read. People who read good books make a change in the world people who can't read books or choose not to are lazy.

    5. Yes, many people like George Bush choose to be idiots and declare war on people. Then they eventually end up dying. This happened because they didn't think.

I answered yes to all of them.

Not because I wanted to but because I'm too lazy to think of a good reason to why I wouldn't agree.

  2. d**n

    those are pretty good

  3. 1 is wrong.  It may have been said in some limiting context in which it was right, but in general it is wrong.  You can certainly teach a guy how to fix a bicycle or pack a parachute or operate a padlock - you don't "find" these things "inside yourself".  It is true of say, wisdom.  But not day to day learning.

2 is broadly true but not in every instance.  Most "rights" are actually the "get" side of a "give and get" contract.  Like, I have the right to use the public highways, but only because I pay taxes and am a citizen.  So since most rights are the get side, that implies a give side.  Usually, yes.

3 is brilliant.  If a guy you hate comes in yelling that the hotel is on fire, what are you going to do, tell him to p**s off cause you hate him?  A lot of people do exactly THAT!  And lawyers in an expert witness situation spend half a day debating whether or not the expert witness should be alowed to speak - ffs, drunk and on his worst day the guy knows 500 times more about it than they do ...

    4.  Self evident

    5. - Shocking, but true.  Many people would rather say "oh well" and "hope for the best" than open their eyes and address themselves to what may be going on.  Even if they can sense it is leading them to peril.  A good example of that is people who are afraid to go to the doctor to find out what that lump is - it's not "anything" until the doctor says it is, so they just don't go - then die prematurely of the cancer that might have been treatable.  Human nature is a fragile thing.

  4. 1. yes

    2. yes

    3. yes

    4. yes

    5. yes

  5. Taken one at a time, they each appear to be true. At least, they match my life experience.

  6. i agree 96%!!! it is very wise indeed. it sounds really corny but that's what quotes are... i like it but others may not.... everyne has a different opinion...
