It is quite difficult either to agree or disagree, b'coz if we don't experiment on animals then it has to be done on humans which I think is near impossible. Large number of animals are tortured every year all over the world, but this can't be done to humans, no doubt animal rights people/activists are fighting against this but very little as compared to human rights. For example if a thief is caught red-handed & beaten by people in the open, then suddenly human rights people will come into the picture & if an animal is slaughtered, people eat & enjoy it.

The best alternative technique to vivisection I think is clinical study i.e. learning & studying from the humans who have that particular disease. Well this may take a long time, but at least it is better than hurting animals. Drugs which have minor, or no side effects on animals, have provoked extreme reactions in humans. There are drugs which were thoroughly tested on animals and declared safe, but when used on humans they injured and killed.

No - Unless the entity getting vivisected gave informed consent and could halt the procedure at any time.  

Animals can not consent therefore no animal vivisection.  It's torture disguised as science.

no. pain is pain, no matter what the creature.  children who experiment with vivisection never learn respect for all life, and usually grow up to be the kind of people you really don't want to know.  if you ever saw some of our universities' animal care facilities and the primates and other creatures that they keep in incredibly small cages and experiment on you would no longer have to ask the question!
