"We have sort of become a nation of whiners," Gramm said. "You just hear this constant whining, complaining about a loss of competitiveness, America in decline" despite a major export boom that is the primary reason that growth continues in the economy, he said.

  1. Isn't he allowed to have an opinion on whatever he wants to have an opinion on?

I'm voting for Obama, so I'm no conservative.

It all comes down to this, who really cares what these rich a-holes say. They are so far out of touch with the average person it doesn't mean anything. That includes Obama and McCain.

Anybody can have an opnion about whatever they want, whether we like it or not.

  2. I believe the leaders are whining!  The mindset is part of the problem, but there's tons of factors.  The statement wasn't outrageous to me.  It's one persons opinion on what the 'main factor' of the problem is.  What happened to freedom of speech?  Liberals tout themselves as open-minded, yet dismiss new perspectives such as this one.

  3. I think the whiners are just a lot louder than the majority who go about their jobs trying to compete.

  4. I think Phil Gramm is way outta touch with the common american....try calling the farmer who cant pay his fuel bill for planting a "whiner" after he just put in 12-16 hour days and may or maynot get a crop....or how about the single mom who pays $4/gallon and works an $10/hr job 30 miles away.....
