Do you agree that Mohammed Yousuf is far better batsman than Sachin Tendulkar?

My Indian friends may disagree with me but most of the non Indian cricket lovers rate Yousuf and Inzamam above Tendulkar.

There are lots of reasons for it.

1.Mohammed Yousuf isn't selfish like Sachin.He always plays for the team and not for records that's why his strike rate is much better than Sachin's strike rate.

2.Yousuf scored 1700 runs in one year which is a world record.Has Sachin ever scored 1700 test runs in an tear in his career?

3.Most of Yousuf's hundreds have come against good teams like Australia.On the other hand most of Sachin's hundred are against minnows.He has never played well against Australia.

4.Whenever Yousuf scores a hundred,Pakistan wins.And on the other hand whenever Sachin scores a hundred India loses.

5.Mohammed Yousuf's test average is better than that of Sachin.

Sachin is just over rated because of the number of Indian fans.But if you ask most of the Australian,English or South African fans they will tell you that Yousuf and Inzamam are much better.

Alright man. First of all when you look at a cricket you don't look at just one year and scoring 9 centuries and most runs in that year. If a cricketer can be consistent and over a long period of time then I'd say he is great. Yousuf has been consistent only last 6-7 years. Tendulkar has been consistent for the last 18 years. When Tendulkar is on song nobody can get near him. Yousuf is cool too but can he match the swashbuckling nature and classic strokeplay of Tendulkar. I don't think so.

Second he is not selfish at all. Imagine a best player in a team with a billion people looking upto him. He is the most humble person you can ever find. He takes on anybody and doesn't care about records. When someone plays for 2 decades and performs consistently that records are bound to be broken by that person. He is not selfish. Team is always first for him. He gave up captaincy so he could perform when he saw he wasn't a good captain. Last year he said no to captaincy when people were expecting him to be one. INSTEAD, he recommended much younger Dhoni for the job. Now do you call that selfish??  As far as I remember, Yousuf was selfish and so he signed up with ICL coz of the money factor right?? I don't say he is selfish enough. A selfish player is Jacques Kallis who plays and grinds but seems to be aloof from the rest of the team.

Never played well against Australia? Did you forget the centuries he has scored at Sydney in 92 and 08? Do you remember what Shane Warne said, "I get nightmares about Tendulkar". If every match is to be one, I don't know. Lara was a lone ranger in a team for a decade where most of the time he lost even if he performed good. Tendulkar is the same. 2 point difference in test average don't show the entire picture. When you play for long and manage a 55 average for 2 decades you are great. If you maintain it for less than 10 years you are good.

I'd say Inzamam was a better player and a team man. Yousuf is a team man too but he performs randomly. He is not end all be all of Pakistan. Tendulkar is end all be all of India.

Remember when you talk about Sachin; to Indians cricket is our religion and Tendulkar is our God. So don't compare a mortal to a God.

im not an indian cricket supporter but i think you are confusing things yousuf is a much more selfish player and his strike is lower than sachins at least in one day cricket so i dont agree yousuf may be a good player but he is not better than sachin

Okay mate.. Iam an Indian, I will make u understand the real fact.  I dont want to argue with you..See when it comes to cricket all round performance is the one that matters. Sachin can bowl...u know that..he can be a handy slip fielder..so when it comes to performance..Sachin is more a better player than those two...But i dont conclude that he is the best player in the world.

Sachin is better because of his records prove him better as soon as his records are beaten by him he will be called the better player.

Tendulkar's strike rate = 85.49

In India,85.49 is considered to be higher than 74.99.

Don't know about Pakistan.

2.Yes,Yusuf did it.Well done Yousuf.But Sachin scored 1800+ runs in odi cricket in the year 1998.

Has Yousuf scored that many runs in a year in odi cricket.

So it's 1-1 ?

4.Number of match winning hundreds scored by Yousuf in odi's =14

Number of match winning hundreds scored by Tendulkar in odi's =30

Only 11 times India has lost a match when Tendulkar scored a hundred and that's not at all Tendulkar's fault.Each one of these hundreds were top class and scored at a much better strike rate.

In tests,Yousuf has scored 8 match winning hundreds.

Actually you can score a match winning hundred and still end up losing the match.

Sachin scored a magnificent hundred in the 4th inning against Pakistan at Madras in 1998 and India lost that match.

So this stat of number of hundreds in win is not of much significance to me.

Sometimes one champion is just not enough to make a bunch of losers win the match.

5.Mohammed Yousuf has played 79 test matches and has an average of 55.49.

Tendulkar has played 147 test matches and has an average of 55.31.

I think i will give more importance to Tendulkar's average.

Tendulkar's odi average - 44.33 even after 417 matches.

Yousuf's odi average - 43.62 after 261 matches
