Do you agree that RX pills like xanax dont help with anxiety?

its only temporary, and dont fix the problem...so you become dependant on it...?

  1. If taken properly, the medication does help - does it cure the underlying cause???  No, it does not, but it can help calm you enough to get through the issue.  When my mom passed away suddenly last year, I was devestated - I couldn't sleep, eat, think - If breathing wasn't involuntary, I doubt I could have done that either.  My doctor placed me on Xanax just so that I could get through it.  The medication helped and honestly, I don't think I could have gotten through that time without it.  I took it for about a month and then weaned off of it....  


  2. That's a rather inaccurate statement. But again, I see mostly chronic mental illness - where there's not a 'fixable' problem.

    For just about anyone who doesn't have a substance abuse problem, getting off a benzo is relatively easy.

  3. You are right. They help temporarily, exactly as food helps to suppress hunger only for a while.
