  1. It really depends. If newer "better" players come up (way better than the likes of people fed had to face 3-4 years ago when he started dominating tennis...several of them are still there in the top 10), then yes they might find it hard to reach 12 GS.

  2. disagree... i think and i'm hoping as well that nadal will win RG, and Wimbledon This Year.. He may go far in the US Open.. and next year, maybe win Australian Open as well..

They (nadal and novak) are very young... they are the future slam holders... I think it will be another great rivalry when federer retires...

  3. never say never. novak and nadal are both still quite young and are capable of winning any slam. you think about it,after fed,it has been those two that have been the strongest players of that equation...the last couple years,it's been nadal vs fed in almost every slam firstly....and now novak vs fed in the last year. fed will be 27 very soon so he doesn't have alot of years left(unless he does an agassi, which i doubt)....and if novak and nadal are able to remain as strong and consistent in the slams,i would not doubt anything in the coming years.

  4. I disagree.  There is a deffinite possibility that both of them will even excede his grand slams.  They are both exceptional players who are still very young and healthy.

and, by no means is Federer the best player ever.  He's won Australia, Wimbledon, And the US...hmmm..what's missing from that list.... ROLAND GARROS!!!  In my opinion, to be considered the best player ever, you at least have to win all four grand slams.

  5. If Nadal can still play 9 more years, and maybe he will win all the French Open title, that will be 12 grandslams(at least)

  6. agree

  7. uhh clearly there is a "never" in sports. both these guys are young and have plenty of time to mature and develop their games. See nadal, he may be the greatest clay courter as of now, and yet hes made the wimby final 2years running. imagine if fed wasnt playing. nadal could be a 3time french and 2time wimby champ. plus djoko made the final of the USopen and has won the australian. in the future, it may be a nadal-djoko rivalry once federer has left the game.

  8. For sure.

in fact, i don't see any one else can do it at this point, perhaps one more genius in my life time...

  9. yes i agree, nadal is goin to win more than 12 :)

  10. I do agree. They may come close but not 12.

  11. I do agree .and even we won't have any tennis player like him.he is the best tennis player in tennis history and I am sure he will win more and more grandslams.he still has a lot of time.

  12. This is tennis, anything is possible. I don't think anyone suspected Federer would even come close to this total early in his career. Not even after he won his first few slams. His main rivals wilted away, opening up the doors for his legendary dominance.

Both Djokovic and Nadal had a much earlier winning start than Federer. With no clear rival on the horizon and factor that in with Federer's continued decline, these guys could very well dominate the slams for the next several years.

I think it was Sampras who said: once you develop a name for yourself, you can win a lot of matches on your reputation

  13. i agree that nadal won't, but djokovic might be able to, or atleast he will come close.

  14. hey dear...just look at their ages...just 21 yrs...federer is already around 27 yrs old...moreover..Roger himself started winning slams when he was of Rafa's / nole's age...dint he...???

  15. Winning 12 slams is an amazing feat. VERY few have won 12, and its obviously not easy; and Roger is by far not done! I am hoping so much we get to witness him break these records. He's an amazing talent and he's a wonderful very charitable person. He deserves it!

We won't see dominance like that from either of the other 2.  Nadal will burn out in a few years, if he's lucky to last that long.  Djoko is good, but his game is easy enough to break, so far he only won one slam and that was against a sick Federer and a "sick" Tsonga. HOWEVER, everyone is saying Djoko's younger brother will be even better than he is.

I hope Roger wins at LEAST 17 !

  16. I disagree.  I don't think at 21 and 22 you can discount them as future slam winners.  Early on in his career people did not think Sampras will become a major contender and yet he won 14 slams.  So never say never, especially in sports.

  17. I think your wrong. Both Rafa n Novak are very young and are only getting better as they take to the court, there improving there game all the time. So post this question in another 6 years ya silly billy! You`ll see !!!

    Vamos Rafa x*x

  18. rafa wont, he sucks on hardcourt (look at his us open and aussie open results) and hes kinda getting worse. i mean the guys awesome and i hate 2 say that, but hes plagued by injuries and a few people are getting closer 2 rafa on clay. having said that, he cant dominate clay forever, thats why i dont think he will ever make it 2 12. maybe 6 or 7. novak on the other hand, well we just have 2 wait and see. itd be a big call 2 say hes the next roger, and u never know who the next up and comer will be. djokovic has great potential but its way 2 early 2 say.

  19. Disagreed. Both players are improving, cuz they're young, and they have plenty of time to win 12 grandslams, little, by little

  20. Agreed.  If it were easy, more people would do it. Nadal is beating up his body and won't make it past 23.

  21. Given both of their injuries and withdrawals from tournament matches I would have to agree with you. Roger is no where near done and will easily win one Slam a year for the next 6 years which should be the length of both these players competitive existence. Rafa's knees from hardcourts will have him sidelined by the age of 27 max and Novak is not the fighter that Rafa is so he won't last as long. There are too many good younger players on the way up not to mention the ones that are already in the Top 10 or Top 15 of the ATP that haven't blossomed into World Class tennis players yet. To say 10 for Rafa might be stretching it and certainly to expect Novak to win more than 7 would be just wishing and hoping. Federer is the hardest working and most deserving of the three which is why he will surpass Sampras and finish with at least 18 Grand Slams.

  22. If Rafa wins French this year, he will have 4 majors. He needs to win both French and Wimbledon in the next 4 years to make that 12. If he can do that, yes, he will equal Roger's 12.

As for Novak, he could win 11 more majors, if he solves his breathing problem and not retire on 5-set matches. He is only 21 and a long way to go.

  23. Y-E-S!!!!!!! They both don't dominate every tournament except  for Rafa's dominance on clay. They'll never get there. Although Rafa with 6-8 majors is not an entire impossibility.
