hello all , please pardon my english.

i have been a buddhist for ...as long as

i can remember...buddhist sutras used

to be my fav. books - they were like the

most delicious dishes in the world...

so it's common that i dream of Buddha...

once he was strolling with his male disciples

at night , i went up to him kneel down at his feet,

and he rubbed my head --it was VERY comfortable ^O^

but...i also had the most terrible nightmare psychologically -

i never dare to tell anybody until recently - i was paying

homage respectfully to a Buddha statue ( not the living one),

he ...manifested as a real man and raped me --

it was very painful both physically and

psychologically, cause almost everyone i know

is a buddhist...so i couldn't tell anyone...

it's very sad...

but according to different anime

(inuyasha, shonen omnyouji etc),

bad spirits are in the statues....

and we shouldn't pay respect to them...

so since buddhists are on the wrong path,

should buddhism be abolished?

thank you

  1. No. Sounds like you just need to get laid. Buddhism is awesome.

  2. You have problems; way more that I can help you with.

Besides, Buddhism and Hinduism are the only religions that have yet to have missionaries knocking on my door at 7 in the morning.

    -_______-

  3. I think you are nut cracker, see a psychiatrist, you had a dream and you want to abolish Buddhism; I can't imagine if someone actually smack you on your face, I think you just might bring in a machine gun to kill his whole family.

  4. Okay then...

  5. You were willing, so it wasn't rape.

  6. You're religion should be abolished .

  7. So,.....you're asking, since you had a bad dream, and have turned from Buddhism, whether the rest of the world should be forced (gently or not) to turn from that faith as well?

The answer's real simple, my friend.  No.

You are free to do as you choose and to worship as you choose, and speak as you choose.  But, your opinion of a faith does not mean you (or anyone else) have the right to choose the faith or path of anyone else.

Further, I would think that an intelligent Buddhist would have looked inside himself at the cause for the dream, rather than basing his conclusions on cartoon fairy tales created for entertainment purposes.

Bright blessings, and please...keep your hands off other peoples' Faith.

  8. Well, if by that reasoning Buddhism should be abolished, then why not also abolish Catholicism, all other forms of Christianity, Islam, and all those other religions whose priests/imams/ministers or other proponents have raped or abused their followers?  (Since the ministers/priests, etc. are supposed to represent the religion, and since statues of a revered figure are supposed to represent a religion, I'm thinking there's not much difference for the sake of this question.)

But consider Zen Buddhism.  Are you familiar with the saying, "If you see the Buddha on the road, kill him!"?   It's symbolic.  It means (among other things) to go beyond the forms.  So I'm thinking that your dream is also symbolic, and might (note: *might*) mean that you're letting your fascination with Buddhism ... um... mess with you.  You said that almost everyone you know is a Buddhist.  It could mean that you are restricting your growth by not having a wider circle of acquaintances.  Who knows?  But do think about what it might mean symbolically.  Dreams are seldom meant to be taken literally.

  9. Dress up as a school boy and try a Catholic church.

  10. Buddhism is just a means to an end and is as impermanent as everything else in the universe. It will be abolished once it has served its purpose.

  11. No.

    The falling leaves in fall,

    Harken the spring rain.

  12. wo dude where did you say you are from?  to much for me.

  13. This is the most absurd thinking processing I have ever heard, and may be you are the one should be abolished from this world, and we should send you to recycle bin, so you can have Right View in your next life; and for a minimum precaution, you should have your head examined.

As you claimed you were a Buddhist, and I bet any money that you were just a Book Buddhist, and not someone who has taken the True Refuge Vow to Buddha, Dharma, and Sangha. Unless you do, you are not a Buddhist; just like any other school, unless you registered, you are not a student, and taken Refuge Vow is like registration for the school.

If you had taken Refuge Vow in a right Buddhist Temple, you would have be recognized as Buddhist Student, you would then have 32 great heavenly deities, who had promised the Buddha to give protection to his future disciples until the end of time. Moreover, definitely no demon like the one in your dream could have harmed you, physically or mentally either in real life or especially in dream.

It was good that you have a good dream about Buddha and have he placed his hand on your head for blessing, but this was only a dream, and in dream state anything can happened, including your own mind creating the dream of Buddha show up in your dream, because your desire made it happened.

Likewise, in Buddhism we have a saying, you first have to have an inner Mara (Demon), then it will bring the outer Mara, following this logic, I think you have a mind that is less than pristine, therefore you can corrupt the Holiness, of thinking the Buddha became a real man to rape you???

It is true that some statues may not be clean, and some dirty low level spirits may have hidden in the statues. But only the statues not made properly and have not been consecrated; if the statues had been made properly or consecrated by the right procedure and right person, then what you dream of could never happened, because no Mara can stay in a statue with proper consecration and remain in tact.

The ghosts and all low-level spirits can hide in any statues or even stuff animals and toys, not just Buddhas’ statues, but also in Jesus or any other deities’ statues as well.

Again, this is just your dream, and the dream is not the reality, and you need to distinguish between dream state and reality, unless there is some sort of physical evident to indicate you had a genuine Mara attack, you just had a dream of your own mental doing.

If you real had the Mara attack in you dream, (not Buddha, but a Mara seemingly coming from a Buddha’s statue) and you deemed it as real attack, then you should have the Correct View of seeking help. Including praying more to the Buddha for his assistance, or seek out a Buddhist Spiritual Warrior to fight it off.

Rather than thinking of abolishing the Buddhism, a religion with the most correct views of how Universe works. By seeking helps and avoid wrong views and delusions and that is what Buddhism is all about.

If the dream is a test for your devotion to Buddhism, then you have failed miserably, a Big Zero and cause for expel; but Buddha is too kind, that he will forgive you for all of your transgressions and delusions.

PS.   For those Christians that think Buddhism should be abolished because of a dream, I think you people should make appointment with a psychologist or a psychiatrist promptly, before you mind degenerate too much to be house in a mental asylums permanently.

  14. Iam sorry you were raped.

You were raped by a man and not by the Buddha.

Buddhist statues are inanimate objects and DO NOT  rape anyone.

Inuyasha and other animae stories are just folk tales.  They are not real.

I am sad you've had a bad experience but it is not Buddhism's fault, nor should it be abolished because you are unhappy. Buddhism strives to end suffering, not to cause it.

Perhaps you should invest your energy in a psychologist or a rape crisis counsellor?

  15. If you don't want to be a buddhist anymore, don't. Don't read the sutras, don't go to the temples, don't participate.

Do something else. If you still want to seek God, read the Bible, talk to people of other faiths, pray to the God of the Universe, the Creator of your soul.

You don't have to be a buddhist if you don't want to.

    Live.

  16. Yes. Jesus said that He is the only way to get to Heaven, so that means that all other religions are wrong and therefore should be abolished.
