  1. Yes, they are, because often your desires are left to shrivel up and die. But the times that your desires become a reality... it makes the rest of the time you spent desiring things you could not have, worth it.

  2. yes and no.

  3. to desire something is fustrating so i guess i do agree =]

and ill tell you why too =P

when you need soemthing, its not fustrating when you cant have it but an essence of life and death (if the case is food or water). if you want something you can block it out. you can forget about it and fill your head with different thoughts or you can want it from afar.

but when you desire, you crave, and when your not satisfied you get fustrated. you cant forget your desire. you cant ignore it. you can try, but it will always be lurking in the background. desires are difficult to control. desires normally are fulfilled because its that fustrating.

    thank you =]

  4. Human desires are NATURAL, they only become frustrating when they cannot be achieved either by circumstances or more often now that the desires ask for the impossible.

with reasonable desires and them being achieved we can gain contentment.  with unreasonable desires and no change of them being fulfilled we gain frustrations.

greed is the source of all misery...

  5. As far as I can see through my own life, our desires are only frustrating if your expectations are high. If you accept that you have tried your best to achieve what you want out of life, it doesn't matter so much if you do not always achieve those goals. In fact I'd go as far as to say that I have found life's contentment is enough to nullify the frustrations for me.

  6. depend if they desire love health and happiness it's not as frustrating as jealousy greed and chaos (war).

  7. there are needs and wants. needs are necessary to lead life in a better way. that is why our elders suggested us to lead a simple and honest life which will help us to be contended.

  8. Do something gees.

  9. NO.

  10. Human desires I do not think are frustrating automatically, they could however be had in frustrating circumstances. There is time and place for each and everything for it to be of some good to the mind, and this is particularly true in case of desires. Desire I understand are the longings and yearning of our physical being that are made visible in face of some material gains. Desires denote our tendencies of a exuberant self, they signify our need to have something beyond the limits of our natural needs.

Then desires I see are in the mind just the way our dreams, ambitions and aspirations are, but desires have an earthly ring to their sound, if they are borne out of earth, the physical world, and as if they are good only for the physical world that they are borne out of. Where dreams can be heavenly, aspirations can be had highly, and ambitions for a better the purposes of a life overall, it is as if desires have nothing to do with what we dream, aspire or yearn to be, that they desire have a sole purpose of making us happy, us, for wherever, and whichever way we might be at a time. Desires are always homely with our current state of being. One could be in miserable and still nurture pleasing desires that would do nothing to eliminate misery.

Then this may be the reason desires are known to impede our way to a better, nobler and greater life. Where our dreams and ambitions might inspire us to forebear, to work hard, to overcome and sacrifice lowly delights, natural urges and desires might cause us to lose sight of our high objectives, for the purpose of instant gratification and momentary relief, if I must say so. We have desire to feel right and in control all the time for instance, where our endeavours of our faith and long-term enterprises of a career improvement might demand of us to go through longer periods of doubt, whereby our faith and resolves is tested, our desires might put us in need for constant assurance and reassurance in life.

  11. Yes & No. Our desires come from our guidance system. They move us along in our life so we grow as we came to earth to do. Right now I am so content. One thing I desire is more money yet I have never focused on it so I am pretty clueless about how to bring it into my life. So I can understand feeling frustrated but this is motivating me cause feeling content never motivated me. As I go along I am not at all concerned about money but it has lots of lessons for me. My son is more concerned about my finances & so he pushes me about it. I believe it will all work out. So this situation is in my face so I will move forward. If I don't then things will get worst until I desire the situation to change...Usually when we desire something the thing or person isn't what we desire it is the essence that we desire. So if we figure that part out we can save alot of money & alot of times alot of disappointment. This means if I say I want a sports car, I might want one but I might just want to feel exhilerated & cool. I might want to feel more alive. I can get all those things with out the sports car. If I have let my thinking get old & dusty I just need to dust it off & think in a more vibrant way again.

  12. Desires are frustrated, not frustrating.

  13. Desires are all but frustrating, that is the problem. They are exciting both before and whilst being carried out. Frustration comes only afterwards.

  14. especially if its something you would like but cant have,we would all like things, but there are some things we cant have no matter what,i think that can be a part of the desire, just the hope.even if it isnt much, anything is better than nothing at all.i wish you well,peAce.

  15. Desire is an attempt to find the source of happiness

outside of us.In that process we are searching for

happiness where it is not available,so frustration

always follows desire. The source of happiness

and bliss is our inner being. If we forget that truth

desiring and frustration will not cease.

  16. They are only "Frustrating" if you have a desire but are unwilling to work to fulfill it.

I know it's often hard to do the things required to get the things you want. But if you are willing to work hard and understand that there may be hardships along the way you will certainly diminish the frustrations and gain your desire.
