Do you agree with Biden? Is Obama clean and articulate for a black guy?

Granted, he didn't add the "for a black guy" part, but you KNOW that's what he meant. Can you imagine him saying that Edwards (for example) was "clean and articulate"? We kind of assume those qualities about a candidate for President...unless of course Biden meant exactl;y what I say he meant.

  1. This is old c**p.  If he didn't say "Black guy" why do you insist on throwing it in everytime you ask this question.  Joe Biden has done more for Black Americans, than most senators.

  2. Yep.

Biden sure has a silver tongue.

Yesterday he called Hussein, 'Obama America'.

I think Hussein picking Obama means Karl Rove is in charge again.

  3. whatever.. obama is clean and articulate compared to most people

  4. There is a reason the implication was formed in your mind.  Most people choose to ignore the fact that Black ppl were slaves you must have all the facts. Did you know there are 2000 languages in the African nation. That when slaves were brought to America that the plantations they were on they did not speak the same languages. Of course none of the languages were English, so therefore, they could not help one another so readily.

Now to add insult to injury. Laws were passed (Jim Crow Laws) that if it were found out a black person could read or write they were punished severely. In some instances the fingers were cut off. There was punishment also to a white person if they were caught teaching them.

The Jim Crow laws were supposedly taken off the books in 1965. That did not stop the actions and the thinking that blacks are not clean & articulate.

These are just a few facts.

Questionaire: when you said you KNOW... that is the implication that you assumed.  Therefore I addressed your implication and explained why you have formed this.  From the 1600's slaves were treated and mistreated in America and taking it off the books in 1965 does not erase the long lasting effects (with all races) that it caused.

America is a young country and to have risen to a superpower in such a short time could have never been achieved without the mistreatment of a race so long.  Now in 2008, with a Black man running for president and a questions that Yahoo has on its boards concerning this fact is quite disconcerting with such facts that are never considred.

  5. You DON'T know that's what he meant. You're adding your own prejudice against HIM to imply he has prejudice against Obama. That's stupid. I'm not a fan of Obama's but I'm also not a fan of prejudice, in any direction(it counts when it's against whites, too!)

  6. Yup... and Biden is fairly clean and articulate for a white guy..

  7. To be fair, yes, he is generally articulate.  The thing that bothers me about what Biden said is, he didn't use the word "experienced" when he was talking about Obama.  Is that something we should be concerned about?

  8. Obama may be dirty and marble mouthed in his responses.
