Question:

Do you agree with Dean Jones?

Dean Jones has labelled Andrew Symonds axing from the Australian team is disgraceful, and feels that it is a sign of stand-in captain Michael Clarke flexing his muscles, especially as Ricky Ponting has remained tight-lipped over the affair.

Doug Walters, a renowned larrikin of yester-year, has lambasted Symonds, saying that he needs to confrom.

So do you agree with Jones that Symonds has been unfairly treated? Or are you in the Walters camp?

  1. To Bingalee,

I didn't report your Question, may be keep a check on your neighbour , who is harassing you on my name, who is Mack?, Binga i never sent you any mail till date, do you know that,  lol

    tiger!

  2. Yes.

  3. oh yeah, i absolutely agree with Dean Jones, it is not a simple case of disciplinary action as fed to media and public, the core reasons and vested interests of Michael Clarke are somewhat different , which we don't know !

Clarke's leadership is not a good sign for Aussie cricket !

    god bless!

    best  regards!

  4. I will answer this last Q, as the super troll deleted my Q earlier concerning Brett Lee facing the media today( check your mailbox Oracle), and my leaving this section because of that troll who is harrassing myself & Ange.

I agree with Jones 100%. Doug Walters has a short memory, considering his escapades of the past. As Jones pointed out,Lillee & Thomson got up to much worse things when they were playing without much re-action, so why is everyone dumping on Roy?

Edit: Pukebob, thanks for the insult! Brett is a friend of mine. I do not appreciate you making those sort of comments here. Most people in this section know that & accept it. And before you accuse me of obsessing over Brad Haddin, he is related to me by marriage. Now anything else you want to know about my family history?

  5. i hate symonds because he is a cheater

but in this case, it sounds racist

Australians  don't want any black in the team anymore

    i 100% agree with jonse

    from symonds point od view

i will say  it is karma

    you get what you seed

he made a cheater out of him under his team mate's support

and now getting what he deserves

  6. he deserves this , everybody has to pay his debts.

  7. You gotta pull your weight and conform in an outfit as proffesinal as the Austrlian cricket team.

These guys are being paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to play and this includes meetings etc.

The Larikin days are over ( unfortuneatlly in my  opion). In the days of K.D Walters these guys all had 9-5s ( Dougie worked for Rothams all through out his Australian carrer, and had to get time off to play and train)

Can you think of any other jobs that you could be paid that much and miss a meeting and not expect reprisials or even have a job the next day.

What I find intresting is some of the other answers conviently twisting this situation and agreeing with Dean Jones because this is some ploy not to have blacks in the Australian team, wasnt it DJ who made some less then P.C comments not so long ago, for which he was crusified for in the cricket world and on this sight, but now they want to jump into bed with him. These mindless users have not a clue or pose any Q or As with any substance, relevance or thought, they just seem to have a vendetta against the west. Wake up to your selves.

  8. So OZ, yu wanna kno who I am? lmao, like i'm Ghost Of Many Users! lol. Who the h**l is Tender Mack? Never heard of him

I agree wid Jones, Walters a silly ol goat, he wuz jus as bad or worse.

  9. l agree with Deano, but in spite of that l also agree with his dismissal from the current team playing Bangla. When you get a new boss, you have to fit in with the new bosses culture, not him to you.Symonds has just carried on as he has been before, and so sacked. He'll be back, but it is the beginning of the end.A player can never be bigger than the team.In the 1970s all players were like Symonds now it's different and you have to tow the line.Sad but true.Dean is a magical relic of a time passed

  10. i don't agree because symonds needs to sort himself out

  11. The absence of Ponting may have aggravated Symonds' plight. If Ponting was there he would have supported Symonds, there would have been some kind of consensus in the team, whether to support or not.  Now Australia team is a loose pack of cards with different opinions on the issue.

Cricket Australia was always stern against indisciplined players unlike it's Asian counterparts.

But sending back home from a series for such a trifling reason is a disgrace, a degradation. It would have been gracefully dealt with, if Roy was reprimanded and a 1-match suspension was handed over to him, which meant he would have been with the team.

    edit:

Is Symonds a victim of IPL?

When IPL offers so much money, did that somehow influence Symonds thinking, so that he was careless about his position in the Aussie team?

Latest is Lalit Modi says Symonds can play in the IPL only if he plays for Australia

  12. l somewhat agree with Dean johns ,.. but not 100% ,..

    LOL~

  13. When you play for your team and your country, you need to moderate your needs and be ready for the team. Doug Walters is right. As for what Doug did or Lillee did or Thommo did was upto their captain.

It is time, Roy knows some discipline too, however great player he might be. He can't be greater than the Don himself.

  14. Well, I think Michael Clarke is flexing his muscles a wee bit too much. Symonds needed to be disciplined for deciding that fishing was more important than a team meeting, but Clarke's comments struck me as being very uppity. I mean, Clarke is trying to exploit his own image. He's trying to be the "cool new blonde with hot WAG" that Shane Warne once was. He knows that he is not as skilled or as athletic as Symonds, who, despite his own rudeness, remains one of the foremost modern-day players. Dean Jones is absolutely right. If Clarke is Australia's long term plan for a captain, I don't see a future as far as a united team in the Aussie dressing room is concerned.
