  1. He was right the Bible says we should not be slaves.  "For freedom Christ has set us free; stand firm therefore, and do not submit again to a yoke of slavery." Galatians 5:1

In reponse to what many of you may be thinking "but there have been slaves all through the Bible" This is because old testament (Jewish Bible) Times were God's Covenant with the Hebrews which is different from God's Covenant with the whole world which He did with Jesus Christ. As the Old Testament (Jewish Bible) says  will happen in

Isaiah 49:6 "Indeed He says, `It is too small a thing that You should be My Servant to raise up the tribes of Jacob, and to restore the preserved ones of Israel; I will also give You as a light to the Gentiles, that You should be My salvation to the ends of the earth."

Jeremiah 31:31-34 Where God tells the Hebrews that there will be a New Covenant

31 "Behold, the days are coming, declares the LORD, when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and the house of Judah, 32not like the covenant that I made with their fathers on the day when I took them by the hand to bring them out of the land of Egypt, my covenant that they broke, though I was their husband, declares the LORD. 33 But this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel after those days, declares the LORD: I will put my law within them, and I will write it on their hearts. And I will be their God, and they shall be my people. 34And no longer shall each one teach his neighbor and each his brother, saying, 'Know the LORD,' for they shall all know me, from the least of them to the greatest, declares the LORD. For I will forgive their iniquity, and I will remember their sin no more."
