Michael Clarke, Australia's vice-captain, has voiced concernt about the current tensions between the administrators of the Asian and Western countries, fearing that if matters are not resolved, it could be the end of cricket.

Do you agree with Clarke, or do you feel that there is too much of an 'exclusive club' and that a split may actually may be good for the game, as it will force countries to look elsewhere to strengthen ties and increase competition?

For instance, England could look to develop the game in countries such as Holland and Denmark, whilst the sub-continental teams could look at strengthening the game in places like Nepal, Malaysia and other Asian countries.

Does the game really need a good shake-up, and has it become to insular?

  1. Its always better to make friends rather than enemies!!

  2. Frankly, I would rather see it end than fall completely into BCCIs hands, for that would certainly mean the end of traditional cricket. CA & ICC are a disgrace & need a reality check for kow-towing to BCCI over every issue that comes up, the latest being turning their backs on our traditional allies(England) & siding with India over the 20/20 tournament to be held in September/October.What the h**l do they hope to achieve by it?

  3. Me thinks the rest of the world's administrators cannot make their peace with the new Indian 20/20 league and whatever else they're drawing players left right and centre!!!  CRICKET will never die - too many little guys playing cricket in streets, roughl fields with tin cans for wickets etc etc etc!

England better start developing cricket in the UK first! (Stated tongue in cheeck!)

  4. All these years Asians countries would meekly tow the line. Times have changed now.

Ever since IPL succeeded, cricketing World has looked at India and BCCI with a different eye.

At first it was ECB not allowing their players to play in IPL. Fine. Then putting banned players in the team for Premier league. Banned by ICC.

Then they invited Sl to play, knowing the date clashed with IPL matches.

    I rememebr your Q.

    Now they are again interfering.

Brett Lee is shooting for a movie, safely, in the heart of bomb blasts. No comments!

CA has reservations about sending their team to play in India in October, just after the Premier League.

Also ICC wants BCCI to change the match dates.

Pakistan is another matter. The country is facing many problems.

Back to the remark: It will be a sad day indeed if the two Worlds do not treat each other equally.

  5. Wow..you've braught up an excellent point. It could get more countries involved in the game. Never would of thaught about it like that.

I think the game is becoming all about money and power ever since T20 cricket arrived really. T20 cricket has changed cricket that's for sure.

I don't agree with Michael Clarke's opinion, i don't think he was thinking properly when he made that statement. To state that if issues aren't resolved it could be the END of cricket, is quite a big thing to say. Or maybe the media have once again blown things up.

Either way, whether the nations of cricket split or not, cricket will never come to an end, like you said, it can only help cricket.

  6. I do not agree x

  7. by looking at your point of view perhaps it is a good thing. it would be like football in the sense that football has four main leagues e.g. english,la liga, serie a,bundesliga to have 2 separate league will encourage growth of the game but i feel that the english league and indian league should be joined in the same way as football is e.g. transfers can be made to and from and both try to qualify in the top positions in order to gain a place in some sort of champions league end of year competition. I think they should consider looking at this type of approach but i doubt as the indian premier league and english league are seeing this as a competition for money.

  8. i do agree, only if the war wasnt going on then everything would be good
