Believe it or not we might have yet another GW Bush style fundie on our hands here.... using their faith to justify acts of war overseas.

"Pray for our military men and women who are striving to do what is right. Also, for this country, that our leaders, our national leaders, are sending [U.S. soldiers] out on a task that is from God," she exhorted the congregants. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that that plan is God's plan."

Also here's some lovely insight as to the beliefs of her pastor:

"Pastor Kalnins has also preached that critics of President Bush will be banished to h**l; questioned whether people who voted for Sen. John Kerry in 2004 would be accepted to heaven; charged that the 9/11 terrorist attacks and war in Iraq were part of a war "contending for your faith;" and said that Jesus "operated from that position of war mode."

So is this guy included in what McCain would have called "agents of intolerance?"

  1. see....I told'em....50 yrs. ago...this would happen when they quit giving their kids whole milk and put'em on chemical substitutes!!...but Noooooo, they wouldn't listen!

  2. God forbid, God said, Blessed are the Peace Makers. She need not try and bring Holy God down to her level. God is the God of Truth, the devil is the god of Lies. Check out this link, then ask, who is her God?

  3. Palin is a nut!

    Obama/Biden 08!

  4. I'm sorry man, I just have a hard time taking Ariana Huffington seriously.

  5. The God's plan argument is how she got there in the first place.

That is what Republican's say when they act before they think and then try to "make do" with the consequences.

If you think about it...it counters the argument for "intelligent design".

If God is intelligent, the Iraq war, and Palin's candidacy can't possibly be his plan.

  6. Can you devil worshipers prove it isn't.

  7. It gets a little harder every day to rub one out to pix of Palin on the Internet

  8. For some reason, they've all been bringing up God in what they've said over the last couple of weeks.

Much the same as they did when the word "change" became popular, and all the candidates were using it in their everyday talk, to a point where it became just too obvious.

    About the right- they're nuts.

Of course they think God's fighting the war on their side--they NEVER question that for some weird reason.

What seems to slip their understanding is just plain logic-- if God's on the U.S.'s side, why then are they losing the war?

But not only losing it, they are just getting embarrassed out there for their incompetency.

The only "side" this war has is the neo-hawks with their oil-business ties.  Now that their profits have hit all-time records, that's what Bush meant by "Mission Accomplished".

If he were talking about the war, why didn't the war go well, and the Republican oil companies flop?

Regular Republicans need to stop being sheep.

  9. She is a Christian.  Christians believe that everything that happens is part of God's plan.  So the Iraq War, and everything else that is happening in the world is part of God's predetermined plan.  The Iraq War was in God's plan from the beginning, for God exists in all time, past, present, and future. This was a harmless statement by Palin, one that is only being brought up because Palin is spotless otherwise.

Stop blowing this issue out of proportion.  I think the Iraq War was a big mistake, and I think we need to get out ASAP, but don't go calling Palin a nutjob because of a tiny little statement.

And for all of you Obama supporters attacking Palin...who was it that is a close friend and supporter of an American terrorist?  hm...why don't you guys go look that up and quite praising Obama as the Second Coming.

  10. speaking in tongues makes sense to this nut !  PEOPLE ARE WATCHING,  LOL

  11. Could be. Do you have something against God?

  12. No, I don't.  Thank you for posting this information.  It just solidifies my support for Obama.

  13. COME ON!!!!  God's plan????  And her own son is going over there?  Something is really wrong with this woman, does she have post partum depression?

  14. And your source is the Huffington Post? That liberal rag is not going to sway anyone. Their lies and sexism is blatant. Just like the rag the N.Y. Times...Nice try...

  15. Every Christian knows Jesus said to only kill the bad people.

I don't know what GOD she refers to, ( MARS perhaps ?),  but I greatly doubt there is very much about this fundie / dominionist that is truly Christian.

Its just the same old GOD/GUNS and anti g*y rhetoric we have been seeing in the Bush administration.

Nothing has changed.  Same old Bush era rhetoric.

  16. I don't care if they all die as far as I'm concerned they should quit their mass murder campaigns and get real.

  17. OK, now you're just pissing me off.

It is infuriating to see a person's religious beliefs infiltrating our political system.

Are Rightwingers incapable of understanding that this sort of religious fundamentalism - to use GOD to justify war - is precisely, exactly the same rationale used by terrorists and jihadists?

    IT'S THE SAME.

Oh, and to appease the n**i Report Trolls, the answer to your question is, "No. I do not agree with that insane idea that God would approve of the wholesale slaughter of people who never did one solitary thing to America."

  18. d**n, I wish I had that womans phoneline to God.

I just have to pray and live my life with the best intentions I can.

She and her kind just dial longdistance.

  19. No.  I don't agree.  In fact I think that is crazy.

It's also pretty funny that conservatives can't seem to take what they've been dishing out for the past 9 months.

Also blaming the media for your problems is pretty sad and probably won't help you get your message out.

  20. That sounds just like the Taliban terrorists that go to war for their God. That's some scary stuff if you ask me.

  21. And the earth was created in 7 (count 'em) days...

    Task from God.

    Critics banished to h**l.

    Jesus in war mode.

Where did these lunatics come from and why are they here?

Can't they go someplace else?  Let's give them incentive and elect Obama/Biden.

  22. Apparently it is part of HER god's plan.  Isn't god just a figment of people's imagination anyway?  At least her god isn't Allah.

  23. Yes, there is a possibility that we can get 4 more years with a creationist fundie in the White House.  I hope not.

  24. LOL What next, God wants a Republican President ........... Oh, wait Bush used that already. Like I always say Republicans will lie, cheat and steal election as long as we let them do it!

  25. I don't trust anything from the Huffinton Post, but saying that the troops carrying out God's plan does not mean God decided we need to go to war in Iraq.

We are there now & we have a job to do.

We cant just cut & run, even it many mistakes were made in getting in to begin with.!

  26. I don't know.  But I DO know it is God's plan to defeat liberalism this November.

  27. I didn't know Bush and Cheney were God.

  28. No. I'm not religious. How could this be part of God's plan? How does she know?

  29. I believe the Iraqi War was fought by Generals, and at first they had a bad plan, but then John McCain give them a better plan and that one is working.

  30. I read that quote (at the atlantic monthly website) and thought to myself, "duh, wasn't she paying attention when Bush said God told to him to go into Iraq?"

  31. I guess it is for her!
