  1. Yes, I was speaking to my friend...

They need more Policeon the beat, rather than in the office looking at the TV Screen all day!

  2. I have worked in the CCTV control room in my city. Hardly a minute goes by without something going on. There have been many incidents that would have gotten out of control or worse without the assistance of the cctv.

Also many people have been helped when they are robbed etc when the cameras have located the offenders.

There many people who think the people just spy on people, what they have to consider is that there are 100's of thousands of people who visit the city every day and not enough cops to keep an eye out for them all. The cameras should stay.

I do agree that some places may not need them and that government cash could possibly be better allocated elsewhere.

  3. CCTV are good as they can have the evidence of any crimes has been committed and can be of a benefit in some court cases.

  4. I don't mind having them in city and town centres.  If we had them on every street corner then it might get a bit big brother, but having them near known trouble spots or near pubs, clubs etc then it's a good thing.

If you have nothing to hide then what is the problem?  Streets aren't private places so what difference does a camera make?

I still think more police on the streets would be a better idea though.

  5. I agree with them. Trouble can be stopped before it gets out of hand and somebody commiting a crime can be caught on camera and convicted.

  6. They cramp my style.......

  7. It's only there because people agree with it.

  8. I think the idea is good for our protection so to speak. 25 years ago there is no such thing as CCTV camera installed for monitoring movement of people from public places like market or downtown area.

IN THE ISSUE OF BIG BROTHER, I have nothing against big brother unless it interfere with my own private lives then it is a problem. But I do not see a scenario where the government have to have CCTV in every room or house of an individual to monitor or watch what they are up to 24 hours a day. This is not a game show.

IN AND AROUND TOWN esp. public places like street corner yes I GO FOR THAT, no problem because they monitor the flow of the traffic to make it more smoother and easier for pedestrian and motorist alike. BUT THROUGH PRIVATE HOMES, no I definitely DONOT GO FOR THAT, it is invasion of private individuals.

DO NOT BE PARANOID like the song of Black Sabbath yet for picturing a world where CCTV camera is everywhere here. No this is not the scenario or even a painted picture of our world. And besides who would watch a CCTV camera for 24 hours? Can you watch a video without turning your eyes off the screen? Impossible. People do sleep, correct but machine like CCTV don't. So who you think needs CCTV for?

  9. There is too much cctv it is invsding our privacy

  10. Of course they're a good idea. Why should any law-abiding citizen worry about being 'seen' 300 times a day, as is apparently the number? The operators are only going to focus on you if you're up to something.

CCTV is of great assistance to the police and if anything there should be more of them.

  11. Yes, if you don't break the law then why should you mind them?

  12. No mate I don't

I don't remember any party saying vote for us and you will be the most watched citizens in the world.

Who are these faceless people who are watching me walk down the street, travel on public transport etc. Who are they?

  13. I used to manage a bar in Wakefield and the CCTV sevice was very handy. If yuo're not up to anywthing, then look at it as a good thing. If some loud messy b******s are thrown out of a bar for fighting, CCTV will ensure they don't get into the bar you're drinking in with your mates and ruin your night.

  14. If it's used to control crime Ok , but it when it's used to spy on people just in case they might do something wrong it starts getting scary

Generally I do agree, but in the wrong hands (like this Government and most of the police force and councils) it could be a dangerous weapon

  15. I do not think the government should be tracking all activity in a certain area, or have the ability to track an individual for every step they take.  Business owners have the right to put up camera's to protect their property and staff, for instance at a bank.  I don't think the government should be able to monitor wide areas with cctv because they are not just protecting or covering areas that belong to the government.

  16.   NO . Certainly not if its main perpose is to s***w money out of The Motorists for Petty and Silly entrapment rules. It was never meant to be misuded like that.

  17. The cameras are a good idea for our protection in my opinion.

There's nothing better than being guided to either a crime in progress or a suspect for a crime by a keen eyed CCTV operator.  Couple this with the feeling of comfort when you know you are being watched when dealing with criminals (usually only relating to Police officers of course) and the strong likelihood of securing a conviction for a criminal when their crime is caught on CCTV and I can't see many arguments against them.

  18. It's not exactly BB because you don't have them in your house, where you wana do your personal stuff. When you go out, other people see you around, so that means cameras are not exactly spying because you are viewable to everyone.

I personally agree with CCTV..it's good for our protection and will help beat crime - especially vandalism.

  19. yes, there should be more.

  20. I Think It is Good because there is more knife crime and killings

  21. I have no problem with them, they keep people safe.....the only people who dont like them must have something they dont want people seeing them do

  22. I think they are a great idea.  I never even think about them, only when you hear something on the news about the never ending crime and the camera's are used to assist with identifying the guilty party - that can only be a good thing.  The majority of us like to go out and have a good time, these camera's are, I believe, only in your way if you intending to do something wrong or have something to hide, of course if you are not, you don't give them a second thought.

Same with id cards - nothing to hide, no problem having one.  'I don't want everyone knowing everything about me' kind of people ususally have something untoward to hide.

The more the merrier as far as I am concerned!

    :)

  23. I am in complete agreement with security cameras. As far as I'm concerned, they are there to protect me.As a matter of fact my local council could put one on the end of my street !

  24. I like the idea that if you got attacked you'd know that it was all caught on camera so they can be identified.

I'm totally for it, I'm not a criminal so it doesn't bother me.

  25. bad idea.

to much of a police state

  26. no its like animal farm by george orwell all coming true!
