Every time I ago to send my taxes to the IRS at the post office,

there is a person or two walking, talking, protesting about how we need to

eliminate taxes forever. While I know its a pain in the back, I

know the gov't needs the money to go on. So my question is,

do these extremist protesters have any real worth going out

there and protesting?

  1. I can understand a natural dislike of taxes. But people who just complain and have a fit about it need to be somewhat realistic and more intelligent.

  2. If Federal taxes were eliminated your state taxes would increase. This might be more efficient. Or it might not be.

To eliminate all Federal taxes you would have to roll back about 100 years of history and have a revolution. A rather violent revolution I imagine.

I would rather joust with smaller windmills.

  3. Audits show that the Port of Seattle wasted 96 million tax dollars last year due to improper controls and lack good practices.  Do I really need to say anymore about why taxes need to be looked at?

  4. If you Understand the history of our nation, you understand that we started our rebellion against the King of England in part due to taxes. The Boston Tea party was started over a 2 1/2 cent tax. We have a problem with society today, and that is that many people feel that they are owed whatever they want. That is a nice way of saying a feeling of entitlement.

Our Federal Government implemented the 16th Amendement, creating the IRS, without ratifying the Constitution. That is unconstitutional, and therefor any taxes that we pay the Federal Government is illegal. That doesn't make the people complaining about taxes anti-tax crusaders, it makes them right.

I am willing to supply you with the links to back up what I say, so you can see the proof yourself.

My question to you is how much of your hard earned money are you willing to give to someone who spends it without asking you if it is ok, and who gives it to your non working neighbor.

  5. Taxes are necessary for a government to run.  But, enough is enough.  Why is the government requiring everyone to pay for things they find objectionable?  Stop subsidizing everything!  Give most of the money back to the people.  If they believe in something so much, like say abortion, donate to organizations that support your belief.  Get the government out of most of this c**p.  Law and order is all the government should provide.  All else should be up to us.

  6. If they had any money to speak of they wouldn't be there. I don't know where these people think the money for the government will come from put they are smoking something.

  7. Do these protesters have any real worth?

Yes they do. Initially, they serve as a reminder of how much the government confiscates from everyone in the country to pay for pet projects. really, why is the federal government funding a bridge to a sparsly inhabited island in Alaska? Shouldn't Alaska pay for that bridge?

Pay attention to the tax protesters, they may be onto something.

If you don't like seeing the tax protesters at the post office on April 15th, then support the FairTax (www.fairtax.org), and make April 15th just another day.

  8. anti-tax protesters believe that the income tax law was never ratified and violates pre-existing laws that prohibit taxation on earned income.  most also believe that our income taxes are only used to feed the growing interest on money we owe to the federal reserve which is not federal but rather owned by a group of private banker.  im not sure of the rest but i heard this little movie explains what they think.

i guess its up to us to make up our own mind about the issue, i dont think they are necessarily correct about everything they say but its interesting none the less.  presidential candidate ron paul is an avid anti-tax advocate, i think he is on the video as well.

  9. protestors all have a bit of crazy going on. otherwise they'd be at work, lol, j/k. i think the tax system needs to be totally refashioned. i dont agree with paying so MUCH taxes. tax me like 2-3 percent to cover operating costs and let my state charge me the money it costs to take care of itself. thats the way it should work anyway :D not taxing the money i earn, then the money i spend, then the money i save for retirement, then taxing my property every year, then taxing my estate when i die... where does it end?

  10. Paying taxes is illegal, at least as we know it.

Research it on the web to find out more.

  11. Taxes are the lifeblood of the government and taxes are needed for public services.

  12. In my experience Tax Protestors see no need to fund anything other than what they want funded.  It's great that the road from where I work to where I live is great, plowed and taken care of but I don't care about the road that you use from work to home.

We do have some common reposibilities to educate our population, provide for the common good, ensure the safety, ensure our freedoms (speech, religion, press etc) But ensuring those freedoms also mean people with different opinions than yours may also speak their minds and hearts.  That is harder for people to get.

Remember that quote, "I may not agree with what you said but will defend to the death your right to say it."

  13. I guess everbody needs a cause of some sort, even if it is totally whacky.

  14. The government could function just fine if it operated within the original intent of the Constitution.
