  1. I think it should remain legal. People should "know their limits and play within it".

  2. it's a good idea in theory, but people will do it anyhow like drinking during prohibition.  cards will always bring friends together and wagers will always play a part in the interest of cardplaying.

  3. No, people should be able to do what they like even if it is harmful.  Instead of spending money policing gambling, we should use that money to offer personal finance classes in high schools so that people can make informed decisions about their money.

  4. Carleton? haha

  5. No.  Now go do your own homework.

  6. Absolutely not.  I don't gamble, I don't think it is wise, but if that is what people want to do then they should certainly have the freedom to.

  7. I don't see how it's the government's responsibility to dictate how I entertain myself. As long as I'm not stealing from anybody, or breaking any other laws to get the money for gambling, then I should have the freedom to enjoy what I do.

Sure, some people have problems with gambling addiction. But some people are also addicted to s*x. Should we outlaw s*x because a few people have a problem with it? Some people are addicted to the Internet. Should we outlaw that because some people have a problem? What about alcohol, tobacco, television and soft drinks?

Of course we wouldn't want to outlaw any of those things. Why is gambling different? It shouldn't be as far as I'm concerned.
