Don't you think in "The Outsiders" Ponyboy's character has been portrayed too sensitive?Doesn't he cry too much for a guy?Usually a male character is not presented like that in any literature or movie.Or at least that's what I have found. He's very emotional, very soft, very clutchy, very dependent.Another unique thing about him is he's 14,which means a teenager. How many boys that age are attracted to things like books & sunsets? They are into other lighter sides of life. One reason may be the period the novel dates back to.The 60's.Anyway.What's your opinion?

  1. Ponyboy's fragility was endearing to me. I liked that he was overly sensitive. It contrasted with his reality in an interesting way.

  2. He's sweet. Anyway he is an orphan. Didn't he read Gone with The Wind? That bit was a bit strange I thought.

  3. I do agreed but it is possible for someone to be like that!

  4. I do.

  5. Yes.

  6. i think that was the point of the book - to show a teenage boy who is quite emotional, but i do agree that it was overdone than what it shud be.
