These Indian media is so engrossed in cricket that they have forgotten all other sports.Today Indian football team have reached finals Of AFC challenge cup.If they win the final then they will qualify for Asian Cup after 24 years and that too automatically.Teams like Japan,Australia,Iran And Saudi Arabia have still to qualify. But our media has no time.I am surfing each and every news channels and in every channel either there is cricket or politics.Such unfair treatment by media hurts the morale of other sportspersons.

  1. no

  2. I fully agree with you.

  3. The media are responsible for many things, but I don't think you can blame them for that, although they are very good at swaying public opinion. The fact of the matter is, if people were more supportive of those other sports they just might do better.

  4. Unfortunately, it's a problem not just in India. The media picks their favourite then runs with it. Often with other sports or stories completely missed. Their argument is always if it rates well we'll keep doing it,

  6. my apologies, but i disagree with due respect to your query!

media can't feed c**p to people, it is a simple principle of demand and supply, media will publish whatever will hatch readers interests, it implies that cricket is most favorite game in the country, please don't misproject, i have been reading Times of India and watching news channels for ages, any accomplishments on the field of hockey, tennis or olympic or asiad sports or any other sport take a highlight in media !

we can't blame media for everything, media is exeggerative but can't befool people in long run!

    hope it helps!

    god bless!

    best wishes!

  7. i agree with arsalan

  8. Shailesh: Media is corrupt. They would like to control and decide future. They report news which they like and they ignore news which they would like people to ignore. Media is controlled or owned by vested interests. There is nothing like fairness or impartiality. In the immediate future, they are looking at ways of making money through advertisements and in the long run, they would like brain-wash the populace.

You are right that they have ignored other sports.

  9. AFC Challenge cup? Did you see the ground conditions? So sodden and shoddy. There was live coverage in ESPN, I believe.

Media popularises nothing. They just join the bandwagon, that is part of their business. They give importance to whatever the public wants, whatever makes them (media) popular and keep their nose in front of their rivals'.

Whatever it is, They carry players to the zenith of fame when they are in prime form, and throws down from there when they don't perform.

    edit__

heard it? The final of AFC Challenge Cup will be played in another 10 days time, and will be shifted from Hyderabad to New Delhi.

  10. Media always cover those events which get marketing for them... its selfish
