I think it would be wrong to abandon the

Olympics -it is a wonderful place to lift the

United Spirits of everyone and the Athletes

can help lift the compassion for Tibet around the

World.

Not attending the Opening Ceromony would be suffient enough for the Athletes to register

a protest for TIBET-

And all that money -how many poor people

in China could that feed???

Let the Spirit of the Olympics lift us all -

we will be united with all the other Countries

participating.

Maybe China COULD make it the GOODWILL

GAMES and although negotiations for

the FREEDOM OF TIBET.

  1. I agree they should go on, in the name of sport . However not in China. The olympics should never be in a place of oppression.

  2. It should go on, but with a change in venue. http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;... Lastly, this link is my  argument posted on the Internet that the venue of the Olympics can be changed at short notice ( but the downside is that there will be no live spectatorship, ad money or TV coverage ) But do you know the immense pressure it will put on the shameless Chinese ? Do you know how many human lives will be saved. Are you also not human ? Don’t you want to save Human lives ?

China took over Tibet by HAMMERING NAILS INTO THE EYES OF THE peaceful buddhist monks.  This is not a USA vs Muslim dispute where both sides have a story. This is a criminal vs victim dispute where the Chinese have commited mass murder in Tibet.

http://www.tibetjustice.org   This comprehensive link below will tell you all about the suffering of the Tibetan People. Now you will know why the Chinese obstruct journalists in Tibet. This obstruction defies new regulations passed in 2006 that were supposed to give foreign journalists expanded freedoms in the run-up to and during the 2008 Olympics in Beijing.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t2ImZlolH... Now that you have read the above link, this link will give you a graphic video ( shot by Western Mountaineers ) of Chinese soldiers shooting Tibetan refugees, who were trying to escape to India thru the Himalayas. ( if this link changes just search youtube – ‘ Olympic hosts china killing tibetans)

http://www.savetibet.org/news/newsitem.p...    This link is quite important. It is a blog posting by a Han Chinese expressing his feelings against his own government. These are the Chinese gentleman’s own words…………….. ‘This article has been deleted three times on campus Internet forum. It was delayed for republishing today [April 1], only to express my opinion, there's no other motive. Viewers' tolerance is greatly appreciated.’

Finally, if you agree with what you have read please join the save Tibet campaign and write to the following.

  3. Why shouldn't it go on? We can't allow a silly old man pining to lord over his subjects impede the world's greatest sporting event. China should be given the highest praise for ensuring law & order within its borders. Protests of any nature against China is uncivilized, interfering in the domestic affairs of China.

  4. I think the Olympics should go on the exact day on August 8, 2008, 8.am sharp in Beijing, China. As what Dara Lama has already answered questions from all reporters indicating that he was not intend to boycott the Olympics to be held in China. It was some politicians have deliberately to stir up the protests world wide, even Dara Lama doesn't know why and how this happening again and again. There are TV series in Hong Kong for quite a few nights described the culture and religious faith of Tibet and the root causes of such conflicts why and how Dara was being exiled. According to the most  local residents in Tibet agreed that the Chinese government treat them quite well in terms of social and economic assistance in the past decades, including the effort to maintain the Tibet artistic and religious tradition. It's only because of a few extremists started the brutal attack to local stores, killed store owners and family and robbed quite a few, and it was all televised worldwide.

We all should look into a more practical and just measure of the whole situation. Then we all will agree that the Olympics should go go. Jimmy Carter has humbly admitted that what he boycotted the Moscow Olympic on the ground of the Russians invaded Alfghanister was wrong. Politics shouldn't mix with sport competitions. I think if Oympics to be held in Hong Kong, I certainly will boycott the fascist government don't provide pension, sufficient welfare payment to the needies, badly treated the poor and the sick.

  5. Yes, I think the Olympics for 2008 should go on and the athletes should compete. However, when u compare winning any medal with brutality and the efforts at stopping brutality, the efforts to stop brutality must be figured into any decision making process.

There is nothing....NOTHING...more important than human life and  I believe any athlete would agree and would gladly give up a medal for the saving of one life. We should consider the athletes from around the world about boycotting the Olympics and get their consensus and reaction to any boycott.

Also, in order for China to understand that the world is watching and hearing the cries of the people of Tibet and Darfur, China must see some physical recognition. Perhaps a peace patch symbolizing the need for China to modify its foreign policy should be worn on a sleeve or uniform would work.

Always remember...Life must always win and come in first!

  6. I have personally never liked the practice of boycotting the

Olympics, for any reason. The Olympics and the World Cup

are the two occasions when countries all over the world come together in an international spirit of both co-operation

and friendly competition. Politics should not be allowed to

interfere, except maybe in a time of war.

  7. The olympic games will go smoothly.  No problem.  In this earth, there will be difference of opinions, fights are common country to country, and it is now Tibet.  it is fact that the people of Tibet and Tibetian people outside tibet are struggling for freedom, no doubt. Their struggling has no connection to the olympics.  Now a days people are getting confusion.  what is the connection to the olympic games and to politics.  It is a famous game and that is politics.  no connection between games and politics.  so, the show will go smoothly and the host country china will arrange for the proper security etc.,
