Question:

Do you agree with speed limits? Should they be on every road or just some?

Do you think they really work or do you think that road signs should be enough to let a driver judge how fast he/she should go? Do you not think that after all of the tax we pay to keep a car on the road, we should get to go as fast as we want?

  1. You are joking right ?

How about we just enforce the laws about robbery on Saturdays ? Or it's only a murder if you kill three people or more ?

Does that sound crazy to you ?

Well so is  your  speed limit idea.

Speed limts are just fine as they are.

  2. Wow, you really think the speed limits have nothing to do with revenue? Well, you are wrong there buddy.

Most drivers are not capable of driving fast. Spatial awareness and simple attention to whats happening around them isn't something the majority of drivers are concerned with.

I think they should have different types of licenses that allow better drivers to drive within their limits and not limit them to the incompetent drivers ability.

  3. This is one of those questions when asked of your Mom she responds, "If everyone jumped off of a bridge would you jump too?"  Well, I'm not your Mom so I won't play you like that.  But I will say a couple of things.

Unlike Germany and a select few other countries, a drivers license in this country is very easy to get.  It truly appears to me that most states are more interested in making money from issuing drivers licenses than ensuring that drivers are actually properly prepared to be turned loose on our streets and roads.  Take some time to see what it takes to get a drivers license in Germany before making speed limit comparisons (by the way, there are speed limits in Germany in most locations with only a select few stretches of the Autobahn as unrestricted).

In this country of largely inconsiderate and poorly trained drivers that follow way too close, refuse to use turn signals, rarely move over for emergency response vehicles, race an public streets, drive while distracted by cell phones, shoveling groceries, and numerous other issues, and frequent poorly maintained vehicles... WE NEED SPEED LIMITS!

Without them the death totals would be something of nightmarish proportions.

  4. Then how exactly would the police dept. earn revenue for their township/county...etc...  Of course there will always be posted speed limits.  And yes I believe in them...
