WASHINGTON -- Three out of four Americans, including large numbers of Republicans, blame President Bush's economic policies for making the country worse off during the last eight years, according to a Los Angeles Times/Bloomberg poll released Wednesday, reflecting a sharp increase in public pessimism during the last year.

Nine percent of respondents said the country's economic condition had improved since Bush became president, compared with 75% who said conditions had worsened. Among Republicans, 42% said the country was worse off, while 26% said it was about the same, and 22% thought economic conditions had improved.

  1. Yup, he's an idiot.

  2. We know Bush is not a friend of the middle and lower classes.  I don't doubt Bush's tax cuts ( that only benefit the wealthiest 10% of Americans ) , the disasterous spending on Bush's war in Iraq, the astronomical ammount of debt

we borrowed from China, and his fondness for siding with corporations and big oil only make things worse for those who are not worth millions of dollars.

In short, yes, we are on the worng track and I can not think of anything Bush has done for the nation's benefit.

  3. oh sure - could even be more than that!

  4. yes i do.

it is an outdated notion that what is good for wall street is good for America. it was recently mentioned that the economy is 70% dependent on the buying public and if main street is hurting than what wall street does is of little consequence. the bush administration has so heavily tilted the scales in favor of the rich that now it is up to them to start buying the country out of this mess. why is the president not encouraging them to go on a shopping spree as it is their patriotic duty.

  5. Yes.

  6. yes he is loco

  7. Normally the president isn't suppose to effect the economy but Bush definately is responsible for high prices on everything and everyone being broke. He got his nose in everything that he wasn't suppose to. This is exactly why we shouldn't have a president who only has an MBA we need to elect someone who has a law degree. Besides Bush was an awful business man every company he tried to build failed miserably.

He should be impeached just so he looks bad in the history books forever.

  8. No i do not. matter of fact the Economy didn't start "deteriorating" until Democrats took control of Congress.

  9. OFCOURSE!

  10. Well, we might consider no-bid contracts as the facet of the Iraq adventure that costs us the most.  But there's plenty more.  The pharmaceutical industry wrote Medicare Part D and included no negotiation on price, MBNA wrote the bankruptcy law.  Yes, I think the current administration is responsible for the mess we're in but not just President Bush.  It's also the people he hired and then let call the shots.

  11. Does Congress or the Senate have any culpability in this issue?  Oh that's right, we can't bash on them since they're "forced" by the President to do his bidding.  Ha Ha Ha  What a joke.   Liberals......Whatever.

  12. Yes I do!!  I cant even remember a recent time when I haven't been worried about putting food on the table or gas in my car. President Bush has changed our peaceful American dream into a daily nightmare not only for us but for generations to come.  It is truly now the beginning of the end especially when our only choices for the next president are Obama and Mcain!!

  13. yes i do and every one is tring to recover and never follow in those foot prints again.

I hear about it everyday at work, lol

  14. YES!  Shave Bush's head and I'm sure you will find 666!

  15. no, the one in charge always gets the credit.  Take Clinton for example, things were great during his presidency, but he did not do much, mostly everything was already in place,

now the sinking economy of today is because of the cost of oil.  and there are several things that have made the price soar, #1 China and India are in the middle of a boom, when they started building several things became very expensive take wire for example, the cost is outrageous now.  #2 the futures market has made the cost soar even more, what most people don't understand is the futures markets do not get very much regulation at all, why do you think most people get into politics?  Is it because they want what is best for the country or do they have a self centered goal instead?  Also, most people hate lawyers and what do we put into office? LAWYERS

  16. Yes...did you know bush is the funniest president??

  17. of course everyone does!!!

  18. there is no doubt in my mind that US economy is worse off. i am just wondering how those 25% measure the economy to think otherwise! the only thing that comes to my mind is that they must be looking at their own checkbooks in order to come up with a different conclusion.   peace

  19. No, I dont believe it.

  20. What about congress and the senate?? Where were they thru all this.....Hmmmmmm? If you think it's bad now, just wait til next January.

  21. Not Bush's fault - and CK is an idiot! Typical of non-thinking Americans. Bush has been able to get very little of his agenda past the democratic congress. Remember, the high gas prices etc. came after the democrats took over the majority in the house and senate. Wake up!!

  22. No. I agree with the 25% of Americans who are well informed.

  23. Nope I agree with Lou and the so called 255 who are well educated..

  24. No, and I doubt the honesty of the polls you mention.

  25. yep, it's all his fault.  His and his buddies.

  26. Don't be fooled into believe what you read from either party.

    The problems started with oil.
