Do you agree with the Arsenal fan calling for a radical rethink at the Emirates?

On BBC 606 he said "If further proof was needed that this Arsenal team is not ready to challenge for the Premiership then please look no further than the absolute shambles that was on display at Craven Cottage .... the squad is too small, how Wenger cannot see this is quite amazing.... and to all those who are inevitably going to say I should keep faith and we can challenge for the title then all I can do is assume you are mental."

Tough words! Are things that bad or is he over pessimistic?

What needs to be done to put you in the title mix?

I confess that I have been predicting a collapse by Arsenal, but now that one is afoot I am missing the rivalry.

  1. i think he is being a little harsh with those words.i mean weve only played two games, one of which we had won,and everyone seems to be burying us and writing us off the title

i agree we have a small squad, too many young players, some of whom often make serious mistakes and cost points for the team but if we decide to play well (that includes fabregas and rosiscy) things will start to go well for us

words like "collapse" "mental" is too early to even mention.last season, man.utd started from the bottom of the league and in the end they finished first.

the same with chelsea.chelsea wont remain at the top of the table for long, not if they continue to play as they did yesterday with wigan.wigan was a better side and deserved to win.

bottom-line is,positions fluctuate and the most unexpected things can happen

im sure arsenal will bounce back and prove themselves in the next few matches because they are very critical and we have to try to win, which we will, otherwise we will be doomed.

we have no other choice but to keep winning

we cant afford to lose any more valuable points

  2. nope

  3. " I am missing the rivalry" what are you talking about haha after Arsenal idk what other team has come close to taking your undefeated streak at the bridge and i am sure this year wont be difference. If this angered Arsenal fan is right one thing is for sure Arsenal always plays great in big games. Its always teh small teams in which arsenal seem to struggle in hence Birmingham last year. I think he is acting a lil over pessimistic cause its still early in the season but i agree we do have a small squad and Wenger is stupid not to see that but i wouldnt ride off our chances just yet

  4. If I was an Arsenal support, I would say do whatever it takes to win something, play the best team to win the  Carling Cup. Since I'm Not, I will be laughing if Wenger manage another fruitless season, and talk about the 'progress' the team has made..

  5. no i dont, they will win something this season

  6. "Missing the rivalry"? Don't flatter yourself.  Arsenal has two rivals: ManUre and Tottenham.  Chelski has two rivals: ManUre because of the buy-the-titles model they've tried to follow, and MI6 because of, well, obvious reasons.

  7. They have quantity, every prem side does. it's the quality of the players they have. They lack the experience to stay up in the top 4. A good team really needs a blend of youth an experience. They are missing key players in certain positions that require players with SEASONED EXPERIENCED and general knowledge of the game, not players who just got their car driving licenses. I think they need a good holding midfielder like Senna or Alonso who can operate there and fill in the void that Flamini left. They need a proper replacement for Hleb as well.

  8. They didn't really have a collapse yet, but I think more poor results are on the way. Obviously they miss Fabregas and he'd better be in good form when he gets back. Van Persie is looking pretty average out there, but it's still early days I guess.

They've made quite a few changes and need time to gel I think, hopefully Silvestre can add a little thuggery and dirty tactics into the mix so they can handle Bolton/ Blackburn etc. lol

@ Tones - Liverpool still have 6 points on the board, so no worries here... they might not have had injuries but had players away at the Olympics instead.

  9. I think after the high's of last season finishing with a dissapointing low this Gunner is way too pessimistic. We did have so many injuries at Craven Cottage but most of these players are expected back within a matter of days, and as long as we have Cesc back (this Wednesday) our chances of winning the game go up by 50%. Who ever heard of Eboue in central midfield? EBOUE!!! The RIGHT BACK!!!

Don't write Arsenal off the title too early, people said the same thing with United after the first three games, but Ronaldo put in a great performance, the same thing may very well happen with an Arsenal player. I'd really like to hear from this "Gunner" at the end of the season if we do win something.

(I think if any team should be worried, it should be Liverpool, who have had NO injuries and still struggle to ebat the likes of Sunderland, and MIddlesborough at Anfield! Now those are worrying signs!)
