It seems like a bit of a reach to me, to blame President Clinton for the deficit that Mr. Bush is about to post--a record, the highest in history, $490 billion. President Clinton balanced the budget, he even ran surplusses, and he didn't start unnecessary wars just for his own ego gratification or give tax breaks to billionaires who never needed it. Really, this seems like the most astounding blame game I have ever heard. Its amazing. But if you agree with Mr. Bush, I am open to hearing your reasons for blaming President Clinton. I need the laughs.

  1. No, and only a complete ******* moron would buy that c**p.  Ummm...yeah, sure it's Bill's fault.  Or, here's another possibility:  It could be due to this administration's mindless tax breaks for the wealthy, or the complete deregulation of all financial institutions, which is currently backfiring quite nicely, and, umm..what else...Oh, yeah.  It could also have something to do with the monstorous money-pit, that is the failed, needless Iraq conflict.  But, it's probably Clinton's fault.

  2. The fact that you have no clue what you are talking about is typical of someone who spouts the horse p**p you have been spoon fed by the lib twits in the media.

The real question is why congress gets so little credit and blame when they write the checks.

Clinton was blessed with riding the crest of a dot.com bubble that didn't come crashing down until just before his exit.  He also had the luxury of an unusually effective Republican lead congress.  He was brought kicking and screaming to a balanced budget.  For his own good he was seriously weekend by his wife's attempt to take over health care and his passion for pudgy interns.

The war has far less to do with the deficit than the media would like you to be suckered into believing.

Everyone who actually pays attention and has the ability to read knows entitlements are the real elephant in the closet.  Clinton did nothing about them.  Bush made a short attempt, but lack of support in his own party and collusion between the media and the then Democratic minority made it impossible to continue.  Then we had 9/11 and many best laid plans went out the window.

Now we have the most spend happy congress in history with the worst approval rating in history, but does Pelosi and Reed get any real credit for this budget?

    They certainly should.

  3. No, he shoudl have said something at the beginning of his first term. He just needs someone to blame.

  4. it's clintons fault for not leaving bush more money to spend. d**n those clintons. how are we ever going to take over the world now? jk. good one?

  5. it's both their fault

someone above said the economy was in steller shape when clinton left

it began crashing in ernest, in september 2000, the first warning shot was march 2000

    sound economies dont 'crash'

both parties are separate wings of the vampire party, sucking this country's blood dry with globalism and immigration

Bush is perhaps the worst president ever, but anyone who thinks that clinton's globalist sellouts werent part of setting this up is in denial

  6. He could have done that 4 years ago.  Not now, it's been almost 8 years.

  7. Possible? Yes.  Likely? No.

I think the logic goes that in order for Clinton to have his great reputation regarding the economy, he did a lot of quick fixes, things that would only go bad in the long run, once he was out of office.

  8. where does it say he blames clinton for current deficits?

  9. Absolutely not!  How could it be Clintons fault?  When he left office, the economy was in stellar shape.
