Do you agree with the Nobel Prize committee?

My big problem with the award is they gave it to a heavy polluter, one who has a highly polluting jet and the most energy inefficient home in Tennessee. Don't you think it would be more effective to give it to a person who walked the walk, and not told everyone else to do the right thing?

honestly giving the Nobel prize to Al Gore wasn't too smart. For already inconsistancies have been found in his global warming documentry; and already a group in New Zealands wants his documentry oscar yanked from him.

my problem with the award is that they gave it to a phony, a fraud, a man pushing a leftist agenda and this 'prize' is part of that agenda.  the world organization of leftist elites has a plan for world domination and al gore is the frontman. THAT is why he won an oscar and THAT is why he won the nobel prize.  how else can you explain the fact the gore refused to debate this issue with opponents every time he was challenged and why don't the experts on climate change that refute gore's claims ever get a public forum to debate him?  this is a sham of a travesty of a sham and we should not be sitting on our heels and letting this happen.

and yes, i agree with you that gore is the poster child for conspicuous consumption,  a gigantic carbon footprint hypocrite and general all around phoney baloney elitist snob.

Well dude, compared with some other prizes, the Prize nomination and selection process is long and rigorous. This is a key reason why the Prizes have grown in importance over the years to become the most important prizes in their field (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nobel_Prize... Well he beat a woman who all she did was save kids from the holocaust but then Al Gore is warning us about something that may or may not be true. The fantasy of 20 foot waves appears to be more important then saving kids from extinction

Your point is well taken.  At the same time, bringing about the awareness of global warming must have some negatives consequences.

Gore could never have been as effective without his actions.  I view it similar to placing a drop of oil in an oil spill so that crews can be set-up to clean it all up.

Does that make sense to you?  (just curious)
