Question:

Do you agree with the Olympic points system?

I maybe wrong but from what I see online is America is said to be winning because it has 27 medals HOWEVER China has 15 golds as oppose to 10 golds for America. I think that there should be a points system like: Gold = 3pts, Silver = 2pts, Bronze = 1pt. But whoever has the most golds MUST be determined as the winners because that is actual WON EVENTS. 1st is 1st and 2nd is sweet F.A. Otherwise we will end up with a winning team being a team that actually never won any particular event but just came in 3rd most of the time. Which is not winning at all! Agree?

  1. Because then America would be winning

  2. Well, that's exactly how it is.

The one that has more gold medals is the country that wins.

Other type of qualification is wrong.

  3. the official Olympic ranking is based on gold. For most other Olympics, the media has been doing that too through out the game. I guess it's just because the US is trailing in terms of gold right now so the US media is using the medal count ranking. But on other countries' websites, they use gold ranking, especially Chinese sites.

  4. THERE IS NO OLYMPIC POINT SYSTEM!!!  Why do people keep saying there is?

  5. I agree with you.

And if America wants to lead. Then it has be a fair leading.

  6. Im Italian.

U must say that in the other contries is China to lead in the olympic games because of the plus gold medal.

  7. The official medal tally is based on gold medals, not total medals.

  8. Why should it matter?

The country that sends the most athletes and pumps the most money into sports are the ones that are going to win big on the medal counts.

  9. Nope, I'm fine with the current system. America leads... Woohoo.

  10. Beats me... I don't even understand the new 'system'.

All I know is: regardless what their passports say, a lot of those Chinese girls were NOT old enough to legally compete in the Olympics.

But, hey! When a Government is willing to issue fake ID to its citizens, how can you challenge it?

I think it is extraordinarily shameful for China to resort to cheating in what could have been its finest hour.

Of course, this is just my opinion; I could be wrong.
