On one of my questions (http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index;_ylt=Ag1qqW5xE.rPmWdHUgtC0rjty6IX;_ylv=3?qid=20080118191505AAn402R), I asked about my nine-year-old niece's story. I didn't get many answers, but the people who answered (with the exception of one person) thought it was good.

My niece wrote two stories to boost her writing grade. They were the one posted on my last question and another one.

Here are places to read them:

She got a D on the first one since it was utterly ridiculous, as the teacher put it, and a D on the other (I didn't catch the reason for that one when my sister was explaining it to me).

I'd be fine if she got a C, but a D?! They gave her one chance to boost her writing grade, she's nine, and they gave her two D's on extra credit! Do you agree with me or the grade that the teacher gave her?

Keep in mind, she's nine! Jeez!

  1. that's very advanced writing for a 9yr old.  clearly something's wrong so i suggest you go talk to the principal of the school or something.

  2. I don't agree with the grades. But, I wonder why they were given. Maybe the teacher hates you too? Maybe the teacher doesn't think that a nine year could actually write so well? Maybe the assignment was different than the story written. I just don't know, but the grades certainly don't reflect the work.

  3. if the person who wrote these is really 9 yrs old them maybe the mom needs to go to the school and file a complaint against the teacher to make her explain why she gave a D to your niece when most grown ups cant write that Good including myself
