i actually watched the olympics this year and was shocked to watch falls and near falls from some countries and almost flawless from the u.s team but the scores were one sided it seemed. i feel the us did not get the scores they deserved and one paticular country got gold given to them by judges who supported the home team a little more than they should have...what do you think?

  1. I agree, the Americans were flawless and Nastia should have won gold in the balance beam, it seemed the Chinese got more credit than deserved.

  2. OMG i totally agree! It was not fair at all. And most of the time it wasn't that they were scoring the U.S to low, it was that they were scoring the Chinese to high! It made me so mad...

  3. it was defiantly flawed.....im not saying that the old scoring system was perfect either....but the FIG needs to go back and iron out some wrinkles......yes the skills were higher level but the routines were sloppier (in my opinion)....vault is a perfect example......its sad that they had to figure this out at the olympics.....the other problem is that the judges were not as experienced as they could of been.....and the tie breaking system is ridiculous!!!!

  4. The scoring system is flawed, it wasn't the judging. The start value, or difficulty score is new this year. This is what allowed some gymnasts to take MAJOR falls (Cheng Fei on beam) and still medal. Particularly on vault, the difficulty value should be halved as there is little room for error.

I think beam was biased though.
