Did you see anything wrong with the little old lady? ?

Sorry I had 2 phones ringing at the same time and couldn't do 3 things at once. Has that ever happened to you?

Here's a quote from a government employee who witnessed a recent

interaction between an elderly woman and an antiwar protester in a

Metro station in DC.

There were protesters on the train platform handing out pamphlets on

the evils of America. I politely declined to take one.

An elderly woman was behind me getting off the escalator and a

(20-ish) female protester offered her a pamphlet, which she politely declined.

The young protester put her hand on the old woman's shoulder as a

gesture of friendship and in a very soft voice said, 'Lady, don't you

care about the children of Iraq?'

The old woman looked up at her and said, 'Honey, my father died in

France during World War II, I lost my husband in Korea, and a son

in Vietnam.

All three died so you could have the right to stand here and bad

mouth our country.

If you touch me again, I'll stick this umbrella up your *** and open it.

  1. Thank You, Amen and Touche.

    You just made my day!!!!!!!

  2. I LOVE little old ladies!   I'll help her do it!

Whether that is a true story or not, the point is taken.

For those who have fought for it (whether ours or someone else's) freedom has a flavor the protected will never savor.

    (USN, retired/in-country Viet Nam vet)

  3. I agree with everything but the physical assault implied at the very end.

Then also I would like to make the point that taking a pamphlet from anyone doesn't mean you agree with anything they say or stand for.  It can mean you have the judgment to avoid being harassed further.

  4. I agree with the older woman. She's tired of all that bull c**p. People shouldn't be so pushy. She had a right to her feelings and opinion.

  5. GO GRANNY ! ! ! !   I'm with you Breeze . She lost people majorly close to her, in wars !  They died to ensure our freedom !  The kid can protest, that's fine . . .No one likes or wants a war ! ! But for an American to call America evil ! ! !  Like we started that war !  No way!  I'd have told her that if she didn't like Evil America, she could just get out !

  6. Sounds like my kind of gal. Is she single?

  7. Too bad people are too afraid of the PC police! Maybe if these tree hugging liberal whiners would get put in their place like this more often we wouldn't have half the problems we have today.

  8. Sorry, but she sounds like a bitter old bag. People who believe spending America's blood and treasure on liberating the Iraqi people, is not good for our country, are not "bad mouthing" America.

They are trying to avoid more loss of life and reducing the national debt. All good things for America.

  9. No. All she had to say was no. I know this story isn't true, but if it were, all those guys who died, did so for freedom to express an opinion, whatever that opinion is.

  10. Ditto the first answer...You can be wittily cutting without resorting to violence...

But, yes I agree with her feelings...

  11.     I AGREE !

  12. The logic  misses me. France and Korea  are and were very different than Viet Nam. Iraq is  also very different. In Korea and France there were threats to our national interests, some of which was protecting our country. Iraq is quite a different situation. Both the Koreans and the French were fighting to survive and suffering. But Viet Nam there was a civil war going on, two sets of thugs vying for control. We backed one set. The war in Iraq is about OIL. And there will be no  victory, a year after we are gone there will be a regime much like Saddam had. Democracy is foreign to that part of the world. We are wasting the young bodies of America.  I was willing to, and did, volunteer for Korean duty. And I would do it again. But not with this president who misled the people, including me.

  13. Amen to her!    I would be standing behind her ...holding her umbrella!
