Sammy "The Bull" Gravano, a mafia hitman with 19 kills to his record, put it best in an interview in the September 1999 edition of Vanity Fair magazine:

"Gun control? It's the best thing you can do for crooks and gangsters. I want you to have nothing. If I'm a bad guy, I'm always gonna have a gun. Safety locks? You pull the trigger with a lock on, and I'll pull the trigger. We'll see who wins"

  1. I see what he's saying, but no.  There is no credible evidence that suggests that more guns = higher levels of safety in the society.  In countries where guns are banned, there are very few shootings.  Either we are more violent by nature, or its the level of access we have.

  2. I absolutely agree. You see, those in the government who wish to take our guns away are NOT looking to "save" lives. They want one thing and one thing only. The ability to control the people.

If they were able to ban all firearms, they would take all of the other rights away.

  3. I think its brutally honest

    LW

  4. I think that controlling who has guns and who doesn't is important. I think that people who are not police officers, or who are in the army whould be allowed to have guns. However, if you aren't than you should not be allowed to have a gun. If someone who has had gun problems before is caught with a gun after the law is established about guns, than they should go to jail for a long time, if they use it illegally. However, if the person hasn't had gun probs before, than less harsh punishment will be a better decision. So I kinda agree, but I kinda don't...

  5. I do, but not because a mass murdered said so.

  6. It is the truth.  I'll have a gun till the day i die, whether or not it is illegal, just to defend myself and other people from crooks like that.  (maybe a small sword, like a tanto or a wakizashi, too)

  7. Sounds like he has issues.

  8. I never thought of it like that but he is soo right

  9. I take precautions to make sure that the only people in my home that have access are the ones I've trained in the use of firearms.

That said, I have a hard time arguing with the line of thought you presented.

  10. In some respects, yes. Heres the thing. I am for better protections with guns. I do not see ridding ourselves of protection as the answer, but having such easy access has just got to go. It should be much harder in this nation to receive a gun and part of that in my view is an assurance that the person using the fire arm has propersafety precautions in place. Your know that statistic about it being more likely that gun will hurt you or someone you love? Well its true, but if you had proper locks and all that you could prevent alot of those crimes (like kids playing with the fire arm, it does happen more often than you think). I am a pure constitution gal. I beleive in free speach, that everyone has rights against torture, ect and that we all have the right to bear arms, but I believe that has to be restricted to safe conditions, just as some speach is restricted (your know, like the FCC)

  11. These people that love their guns like toys and they are so important to them need them badly to compensate for their on inferior insecurities. They are lacking some where else so the need these guns to make feel better about their issues.Let just hope they don't flip out and go on a shooting rampage.

  12. had the supremes got this one wrong it would have been the second official major sign in a week that we are officially doomed as a nation.

the first was the gloucester, ma high school pregnancy boom and the ABC reporter coddling the "happy" young couple.

    sadly, sammy was correct.

  13. Prime example, even the bad guys know that taking our guns only benefits bad people and leaves good people defenseless.  I strongly support the second amendment.
