  2. Have you seen the movie "Full Metal Jacket"? There is a short little monologue about just that. I don't want to spoil it but the main character says how in boot camp he is stripped of his name and given a number, because that way no one is special or better than another. They are all the same.  Their platoon is their name. They are to be trained as one unified group of strong fearless soldiers. He says it differently, but what you said is true: a son is a soldier once he enters that battelfield. His only identity belongs on a tag.

    No one is special..when it comes to war- we like to think so as humans of course..but people become mere numbers when in battle..  

  4. I'm no politician but I think when it comes to war, history has definitely proven that statement to be very true. Sad, but true.
