When a very high energy electron hits a target material, 4 particles emerge from the target, that is 3 electrons and a positron, instead of just 2 electron, the incident and ejected electrons. It seems that the 2 extra particles are created out of nothing.

  1. Nothing from nothing leaves nothing so the two extra particles have to come from somewhere.  I'm so smart :-)

  2. Lavoisier: Nothing is created, nothing is lost, everything is transformed.

This one electron and positron have come from somewhere, unfortunately i'm no scientist and can't explain.

They seem to be created out of nothing but aren't.
