Do you allways answer the phone?

Question

We make it a rule don't answer the phone if we don't

recognize the number, we let the answering machine

pick up if the call is important caller will leave a message

If I don't know the number I NEVER answer the phone. I also agree that if it was something important they would leave a message and I would return the call ASAP.

if you have caller id, thats what you do. i dont have caller id, so we always let the answering machine pick up and listen to who ever it is, then pick it up

Nope. I don't always answer. I look at the caller ID first.

Sure I answer it.  I just say thanks and hang up if its not a meaningful call though.  Not sure why people get tied up in a knot about it.

i only answer if it is someone i know. i let the answering machine take the call if it is a number i do not know. and alot of times they hang up on it. so therefore it was not a very important call.

I never answer the phone, I wait until the answer machine goes on.....then I make my decision to pick it up , or let it go to the voice-mail.

No, we don't always answer the phone. We pretty much do the same thing, we let the machine get it if we don't know who it is.

It is a good idea to let voice mail pick up on calls from numbers/names you do not recognize.

There is nothing rude about protecting your privacy.

My land line is mostly used for fax/and DSL connections.

It still has voice mail to pick up vox calls and messages.
