Do you always feel tenderness when you touch your chest if you have costochondritis?

I was diagnosed with costocondritis a month ago, and sometimes it comes and goes daily. Is that correct? Is that really costo. also i dont have any tenderness when i touch my chest. it just hurts to breath or stand it feel like my rib cage is swollen
